This has been bothering me for a while and as geeks we should figure this out once and for all.

Re: What's the plural of Raspberry Pi.
It's Raspberry Pis. Inelegant, but effective.
Director of Communications, Raspberry Pi
Re: What's the plural of Raspberry Pi.
Liz is totally. & utterly. mistaken.
Its simply Raspberry Pi. Singular or plural.
"Three Raspberry Pi, One Raspberry Pi, four RasPi"
"The RasPi are all set up under the Christmas tree & the sheep are snug in their beds"
Raspberry Pis / RasPis should only be used in rare cases where the context doesn't show its plural OR you want to be absolutely clear you mean many. "Order more Raspberry Pis right away!"

Re: What's the plural of Raspberry Pi.
Diameter of a circle is 2 Pi R so obviously the Plural of Pi is Pi. So say I and so said Archimedes.
Re: What's the plural of Raspberry Pi.
Actually, we don't always form plurals by adding an s.
1 mouse, 2 mice
1 moose, 2 moose
1 spy, 2 spies
so we can make up any rule we want.
I suggest:
1 raspberry pi, 2 raspberry pys
1 mouse, 2 mice
1 moose, 2 moose
1 spy, 2 spies
so we can make up any rule we want.
I suggest:
1 raspberry pi, 2 raspberry pys
Re: What's the plural of Raspberry Pi.
I really don't like the use of Pis as it's inelegant and I always read it as to be pronounced "piss" which is unfortunate and undeserving.
Though I can't really object to Pies as a plural it doesn't feel right when used.
I would suggest Pi's based on, "dotting the I's and crossing the T's", and what I was taught some years ago.
In practice I'd probably use Pi as singular and plural and rely on context as it seems many people these days would take Pi's to be a possessive or a contraction and consider the apostrophe wrongly used.

Re: What's the plural of Raspberry Pi.
Raspberry Pies is too easily confused for a collection of baked goods. Raspberry Pis is too similar to Raspberry Piss. I therefore vote for Raspberries Pi.
Re: What's the plural of Raspberry Pi.
"Pi's" contains a grocer's apostrophe. Bad, bad, bad. Hippy is quite correct when he says it indicates the possessive.
As to the comment about "2 Pi R", that is a mathematical equation, not a form of prose, so the rule that is being implied is not applicable. Alas, Archimedes was Greek, so perhaps we shouldn't look to him as a scholar of the English language. I doubt he ever spoke, or heard it spoken during his lifetime.
As far as I am aware (and I'm not a grammar expert but I am sensitive to glaring errors like grocer's apostrophes) it is grammatically correct to say "Raspberry Pis", even if it does look inelegant. Alternatively, you can avoid this minefield altogether by saying "Raspberry Pi computers" instead.

@Mr.Dave: Sorry mate, that is the plural possessive form...
Isn't grammar fun?

No, it has to be:
Pien
(As in VAXen for you 1970s hacker types. Well, it's nearly a VAX.)

Re: What's the plural of Raspberry Pi.
The plural of octopus is octopi.
The plural of cactus is cacti.
Therefore, the plural of Raspberry Pi is ... wait for it ... Raspberry Pii!
Please don't ask me whether it's pronounced Pie or Pie-eye or Pee ... and we thought Raspberry Pis was distasteful!
Actually, I've been referring to them in the plural as Pi boards.
The Raspberry Pi - popular low-cost computing system or tasty dessert? Discuss ...

The best things in life aren't things ... but, a Pi comes pretty darned close!

Liz should ask Gert what "pis" means in Dutch, maybe that should change her mind.
Hint, Hippy has it right, unfortunately!

Speaking of multiple Pis, would a network of several be a RaspberryBush?

Re: What's the plural of Raspberry Pi.
Talk has been going on about clustering multiple PI's for a long time, almost since the forum started, and the consensus seems to be to call a cluster of PI's a "bramble".
Just search for "bramble" in this forum to see what I mean.

Does that make each pi in a "Bramble" a "Drupelet"
And now that we have Pi's have we officially evolved from Homo Sapiens to Homo Raspians or will that be what we classify them when a Pi becomes self aware

Re: What's the plural of Raspberry Pi.
I prefer just Pi
e.g.
How many Raspberry Pi do you own ?
I own 3 Pi
So that's 3 Pi in my bramble...
