Is this real? - Raspberry Pi Model B+

Sun Jul 13, 2014 11:23 pm

I stumbled across a load of references to a new model of Raspberry Pi:

Image

Various blogs mention it :
http://hackaday.com/2014/07/13/introduc ... erry-pi-b/
http://liliputing.com/2014/07/is-a-rasp ... e-way.html

The German RS website has it, with datasheets:
http://de.rs-online.com/web/p/entwicklu ... r/8111284/
And mechanical schematic:
Image
They have a partial schematic which shows connections and a few bits around the power inlet, including what looks like a power health LED.

So...

Is this real? An accidental slip of information?

A leak :) and it's quite real as RS and others don't do in science fiction or fantasy :)

Is this the real life?

Is this just fantasy?

Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality.

You are not the first to post this. Others threads got deleted. Wonder why this one is still up? Torquemada on holiday?

It's real. I suspect an official announcement will follow tomorrow morning.

I haven't been online all day, been busy seeing to the new house, so I didn't get to see the other posts.

If this one is deleted?... Meh! The RPF's prerogative I suppose, but would seem a bit silly when the cat is well and truly out of the bag.

Mama, life had just begun

And now I've gone and thrown it all away

That's what I figured. Maybe they couldn't let anything leak on the 13th? It's after midnight, so we're the 14th and that's the release date on the German Element 14 site.

I picked it up on Hackaday.

From reading the 3 pdf's:

- It seems analog video and audio have been combined on one 3,5 mm jack. Maybe 4 pins?
- What's a "reset circuit"? Push button?
- Different voltage regulator. Less power consumption?

Too late

My time has come

Sent shivers down my spine,

Body's aching all the time.

Goodbye, everybody, I've got to go,

Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth.

5V 2A power supply requirements suggests fully powered USB, and maybe also more power on GPIO.

After HackADay it seems RPi foundation has realized deleting posts is futile.

With the PCB corner radius it looks like the RPi will finally fit in an altoid tin.

probably similar to the NowTV/Roku composite audio out? that cable is about a fiver from Sky might be cheaper elsewhere.
