Re: What search engine do you use?

Try startpage.com It uses the Google search and filters. If you want to get rid of the Google ads on top then add uBlock to your browser. If you want privacy then don't use internet. You and I are being traced and filed to some extent. Probably you and I are not of interest except for targetting ads...

Which didn't help either, so I unplugged the device, waited a while and plugged it in again.
Thanks for the advise anyway.

RTFM
Securing your Raspberry Pi.
Passwordless SSH access.
It's all there, it's all been explained, read the Raspberry documentation.
A side note: generating keys and setup is far easier from another Linux machine than from Windows.

Re: Software Monitoring of Supply Voltage and CPU Temperature

Is it possible to read this outcome somehow, somewhere?
I mean, what's the command.

Because if the software can read it in the system it must be possible to output it on screen as well.

Re: Cloning sd card and flashing it to a new SD card

There's a lot of effort in this matter. Let me show another direction. First there's the maybe slow but reliable Raspberry Pi Imager Second there's the raspberry pi documentation Third, I'm very fond of rpi-clone which is quick as lightning Coincidentally I created the setup yesterday. - RPI 4 booti...

Gotcha! So I chose: B2 USB Boot Boot from USB if available, otherwise boot from SD Card [BOOT_ORDER=0xf14] As far as I understand that equals (more or less) if USB boot option is present boot from USB else boot from SD endif This implements imho that it should boot from SSD even when a bootable SD card is p...

Boot order RPI4 rev 1.2 2GB [solved]

Hi, I do own this RPI 4 for about 5-6 months now and thought to give it a shot again. Running on SD card SanDisk 16G without problems. Attached Samsung SSD 250G and cloned the SD card to the SSD. Easy math.

Does RPI crontab support last day of month?

Hi,
I want to read the gas meter on the last day of the month.

For cron I have found this:

Code: Select all

57 23 28-31 * * [ `/bin/date -d +1day +\%d` -eq 1 ] && myscript.sh
and another surprising simple:

Code: Select all

57 23 L * * /home/pi/myscript.sh
Is the L implemented on RPI?

Agree with @rpdom.
However if you want to format you might consider using SD Card formatter, the 'official' one from SD Association.

To prevent these kind of mishaps I have a bare Chrome plus a Firefox with uBlock, Privacybadger and HTTPS everywhere.
In case login fails I switch to the Chrome browser to login.
