Dormant conundrum

I'm using the pico to talk to a simcom7020E NB-IoT modem via uart0. If I use time.sleep() to pause my program everything works great. If I substitute a dormancy in lieu of the the time.sleep() all the modem AT cmds work except the one that tells it to connect to the cell network. I've put a DSO on t...

pico sleep mode via micropython

Is anybody here privy to what the foundations intentions are re access to sleep modes on the pico from micropython? https://ghubcoder.github.io/posts/awaking-the-pico/ is a nice piece of detective work that claims 1.3mA sleep with wakeup from an internal timer (no extra hardware required) but I don'...

Re: Dormant mode in MicroPython

My understanding is the Pico will wake from Dormant based on time but you need an external crystal. So my hope is in time external timer/RTC won't be necessary According to https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=309414 the pico already has a crystal on board. How will an external crysta...

# Using ADC(29) - Pin 29 is automatically set as required.

Not the experience here, we have to set pin 29 as input (regardless of if we call as 3 or 29) is want that pulldo disabled.

low power sleep mode in python

I'm trying to figure out how to put the pico into some sort of low power mode for 10 minutes so I can run it in a wakeup-run a .py program-sleep cycle. https://github.com/raspberrypi/pico-playground/tree/master/sleep/hello_sleep claims it "Demonstrates low power sleep and waking from RTC" ...

thonny & ssd1306.py question

I'm having trouble adjusting to Thonny Vs editors I've used previously (Atom, sublime). I really miss ctrl x to delete a line in the editor window, ctrl k works if the cursor is at the front but I was wondering if there is an equivalent of ctrl x to delete from anywhere in a line? My other question ...

Re: edid problem

That's a nice idea except the edid info for the non identifying monitor is wrong, edid wants to use mode4 whereas the non identifying monitor needs mode87. I know what settings the non identifying monitor needs I just can't figure out a way to apply them when it doesn't identify.

Is there indication of what was actually causing the hang in reboot Dougie? I ask because I had a bunch of Jessie Lite PIs that used to reboot reliably then they didn't & I was wondering if some update I did actually introduced the problem?

Why does resizing have to be such a headache?! I had no luck with PiShrink (major partition alignment problems) while qemu-img, gparted & every other linux based app I've tried don't work either. Doomed to spend the rest of my days waiting for big fat quarter full 8G sd cards to clone.

The translators I tried mashed the .PDFs pretty bad but it was the same 2s complement output & clocking methodology @ 10/40Hz. I'm loath to email you the dogs breakfast I waded through, I'll see if I can come up with a more legible translation.

I've given up on the Pi zero for low power apps because you can only put USB modems to sleep not switch them off. I can get lower current drain with a full sized board pi2 B+ using os.system("echo '1-1' > /sys/bus/usb/drivers/usb/unbind") in Jessie to physically switch the ports off. It's ...
