Re: Budget display options for RPi 400?

I use pre used monitors, mini monitors, & TVs, mostly. Nothing wrong with a VGA monitor, just get an adapter. problem with that is that this active adapter (it contains a lot of electronics) might cost as much as a used monitor, and uses current from the RPI, if it isn't powered with an extra p...

Re: Phyton3 not downloading

python is not the same as phython (with an extra 'h'),, the form that is used for the programming language is the one with just one 'h'.
and yes and python3 s pre-installed in raspberry PI OS.

Also python2 is obsolete.

Re: Amperage tolerance of standard gpio header

Yeah, I might have exaggerated a bit for effect, it also depends on how LONG 100A would flow. In most of such cases the current is delivered from a capacitor and would only last for a few mS, unless the source is a submarine battery!

A limit.of 5A seems about correct.

Also, you should start by stating WHICH PI it is you are experiencing this with!

sound more like a slightly damaged (by static electricity or such) than by using 64-bit

Re: Amperage tolerance of standard gpio header

Most suppliers state a maximum amperage of 1A per PIN, but this are mostly gold plated pins, and for a simple contact as a pinheader "maximum amperage" almost has no meaning.. Dependant on things like temperature and contact pressure the whole contact will have some very low resistance, an...

Please stop posting nonsense, that only confuses the original poster! The truth is that a charger is NOT suitable, you need a power supply not a charger (as is often said, there is no battery in a PI that you can charge) But it is true that using a charger to power a PI does sometimes work, especial...

Re: Budget display options for RPi 400?

If you got a monitor from a thrift shop, make sure it has HDMI output, or lacking that a DVI-D input (the large white connector) as HDMI is just DVI-D with sound channel added, and a more modern connector. For a DVI-D monitor you will need another cable than for a HDMI monitor, or a small adapter fr...

Using a relay board designed for an Arduino is unfortunately not trivial, and doing it the wrong way might even damage your PI !

Please read this sticky, from the pitfalls series of stickies carefully:

Re: rpi4 burned off

This is an overvoltage protection diode, which shorts the 5V input when there is more than 6 Volt on it. It will only work to keep the rest of the circuitry safe if the larger than six volt comes from a weak source, but in your case the diode has "exploded" and is burned up, after that the...

any voltage more than 4.0V will blow up (cause a latch up) your PI, but 12V will burn the chip to a crisp.

Re: Create an Amplitude modulated signal

If it is really 50 or 60 Hz, you can generate that easily enough by using PWM and a resistor/capacitor to convert the sinus to analog. You then need an opamp circuit to amplify it to 24V. Or you could amplify the PWM signal using a simple digital 3V3 to 24V level converter circuit., then use an RC c...

Re: RP2 B v1.1 Cycles @ Startup [SOLVED]

Just after the rainbow screen Linux boots up, and before the power manager starts there is a moment that much current is uses, and it can cause a crash when the PSU is not able to deliver that much current, in lesser cases you will see the under voltage icon lighting up, and the power LED blinking.

Re: Build HAT Stackable and different form factor

real HATs are NEVER stackable, because each HAT has an I2C EEPROM at a fixed address, and stacking would mean you would have two such EEPROMs on the same I2C bus and with the same address, and that would not work. There are some devices that are almost HAT''s but don't have an EEPROM (needed for plu...

No RPI has a battery, so there is nothing to "charge"! chargers generally do not attempt to give a steady 5V output voltage independent of the current they deliver, as a steady voltage is not necessary to charge a battery. This charger uses the USB-C method and ties to "nego...

there are four official resellers in china. I checked a few and cannot confirm your $60 price. SEEEDSTUDIO sells the RPI 2 W for $15, and another reseller sells it for HK$128.00 that is $16.46. Non official sellers (pirates) sometimes scalp a product from official sources, and resell them with ridic...

on the picture of the sensor board I see three copper pads, with 1V8 on one end and 3V3 on the other end, that could indicate you need to add a solder blob between the 1V8 pad and the middle pad, OR between the 3V3 pad and the middle pad.As it could be you "program" the I/O voltage with th...

Raspberry PI desktop for PC en Mac is just Debian for x86 CPU's that has the same desktop as regular Raspberry PI OS.

so the question actually is if Debian works on your system.
