no dual screen with different Pis/kernel versions

Coming from here https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?p=1944980#p1944980 I've made some more tests. I have a Pi Zero 2 W which has a 640x480pixels DPI connected. When connecting a 1080x1920 display to HDMI the Zero fails to boot. That unit is on 5.10.79 (note: should not cause any issues as ...

Re: Duplicate screen

Tried to replicate this but hit another 'maybe bug': my second display doesn't come up, so can't help atm. for those guys at RPT who look into this here is some data (note: I've compiled latest kernel from source): pi@CM4-4GB-NVMe:~ $ xrandr --verbose Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1080 x 1920...

Re: And Idea how to get this TV working with my PI?

You could try adding hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080 to config.txt along with the correct group and mode for the resolution. hdmi_group and hdmi_mode will not work with KMS, sorry. Again, try to get your screen working first. In case you have one of the 1366x768pixels displays (which will cause issues ...

Re: Compute Module 4 IO Board Fan

Hi All, I have another problem with this and hope somebody will take the time to point out a thing I missed. I have followed Jeff's HowTo (https://www.jeffgeerling.com/blog/2021/controlling-pwm-fans-raspberry-pi-cm4-io-boards-emc2301) and for the first time with a fresh CM4 IO Board it worked. I wa...

Whenever we are trying to use SSH as password and enter the default password we are getting the error: Permission denied, please try again. We checked few articles and issue seems to be observed by many people with no specific fix. Request for kindly support. sorry, but can you provide more details...

The bottom angle is 50 degrees. In my opinion it's not true so you have the equipment for measuring display viewing angle? Wow, I'm impressed! https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4b/Protractor2.jpg if you think that's how it done, go ahead with it. Let me post an example as well https:...

Re: Display issue with Bullseye image and Pi 4B

I had to replace kms with fkms in config.txt to get my monitor to work with Bullseye. This is a good temporary measure, but it cannot be used as a final solution. I am looking for a better solution to make the resolution of config.txt so that the HDMI LCD can work normally on kms. your '7in display...

Re: Colour problem

You can't change the display technology. Your experience might be better when you physically rotate the display. can only repeat myself! What you're asking for is like turning a Boston Whaler into a cruise ship. Sorry to say, but not possible! If you need a display which has max all-around viewing ...

Re: And Idea how to get this TV working with my PI?

Where do you enable 'pixel doubling'? With KMS '--scale' option is your friend, so tackle both broblems individually:

1: make sure you have latest updates installed
2: get your display working
3: once this is working report back to tackle the 'i want to have a bigger desktop' issue.

That fixed it! Wow, thank you so much. Cheers!
disabeling KMS is not the best option. Make sure your OS is fully updated/upgraded. There've been reports of incorrect reading of monitor EDID which are investigated.

Re: Booting CM4 from SSD via the PCIe slot

I might be a bit offtopic, but does this also support booting from an SSD that is connected via a SATA PCI card (Such as the ASM1062?). Thanks! the sata card will need a driver, so question would be is there one available im the default kernel. NVMe booting on a CM4 works like a charm once the boot...

As other popular cases are considered to big and you also don't wont/can't rotate your case I can't give any other feedback.

Good luck in finding a case that suits your needs.

Well, you need to decide which counts most: good display performance, or USB ports on top.

Re: Pi tablet using Android tablet (no, not the same old question)

Why isn't there a $10 adapter on eBay to convert these touchscreens to DSI so we can plug them into the Pi just like the official screen (or even HDMI)? Do you have an old tablet you can open up and photograph ? I don't want to rip my Samsung to pieces :-) From there perhaps we can identify the bit...
