Try "sudo apt-get install hfsplus" on the Pi.
After that you'll be able to read HFS+ volumes.

Check files can be exchanged ok before deleting anything. HFS+ support under linux is passable.
Ah thats great. Thanks epoch

Trouble formatting SD Card for fresh Install

turned of my Pi2B and pulled out the SD Card. Inserted it into a card reader attached to my Mac. Spent the entire day trying to reformat this card so I can install a newer version of Noobs on it. DiskUtility failed. Terminal commands failed. Tried putting the card into my Windows PC and formatting i...

Imager Versions - 1.0?

The current version of Imager 1.4 does not run on my Mac. Are there earlier versions of Imager that work on older OSs?

Re: Updating RPi 2 fails

After changing the sources/list file the apt-get update still reports the Wheezy Packages are not found.

Oh well, I'll push on with the manual update to Buster

Thanks

I found the sources.list file and edited as prescribed deb http://legacy.raspbian.org/raspbian/ wheezy main contrib non-free rpi Wondering what the commented apt-get source function line does? Also, been trying out SSH from my Mac. What is a way I could have executed this via SSH command line? I'm c...

The Raspbian files for Wheezy are still available (at present), but will not get any updates. The repository has been moved to an archive.
Thanks rpdom, I'll give that a look to see if it improves anything in the meantime

Mount HFS+ USB Flash Drive to Back Up Files

Hi guys, I'm trying to back up my Pi2B before I update the OS to Buster. The most obvious method of doing this seemed to me to use a flash drive. Insert drive, copy files, job done. Not on RPi it isn't. As with everything on this platform its not as straightforward as that. Tried using Dropbox but I...

Re: Updating RPi 2 fails

RPF maintains repositories for the current major release (Buster, at present) and one prior (Stretch). Repositories for Jessie and before (Wheezy is "before") have been dropped. Save off any data you want to keep and start fresh with RPiOS Buster. Wheezy, Jessie & Stretch are "lo...

RPi 2 and MinecraftPi - Offset MC window

Hope this is in the correct subforum. Searched a bunch of places but could not find anyone with the same conditions as I'm getting. Been away from RPi for a couple of years and getting back into it, I seem to have forgotten everything. On a RPi2 with Rasbian Wheezy. MCPi 0.1.1 alpha. Tried the sudo ...

Updating RPi 2 fails

Hi, I'm returning to the RPi world after letting it sit for a couple of years unused. I have a Pi2 with Rasbian (Wheezy I think, I forget). Plugged in and booted just fine. Did the routine updates: sudo apt-get update which gave this error message (see image). Basically none of the updates were foun...

Re: Minecraft Pi installed, but no mcpi folder

We added Python 3 support a couple of months ago. Run ```bash sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade ``` from the Terminal and you'll have the Python 3 version too. I'll stop short of saying this isn't true, you may very well have added support for Python 3. However the lessons that call for Pyth...

AdamMercado, you saved us with your research and careful explanations. Thanks very much. Thank you for the reply. I'm glad my rant was in some small way a little help. Re: Minecraft Pi installed, but no mcpi folder

Thanks much folks for the replies. After a lot of headbanging and digging around the 'net I found out that in earlier versions of MC that did not come pre installed there was an mcpi folder where all the API files were located. It took forever to realize that things are much different I later versio...

Thank you for the replies. I ended up just yanking the power cable. Hope no files got corrupted. Oh well.

Good to know about the composite. I could have just plugged into a composite port on the monitor and been fine. I'll know for next time :)

Cheers

Headless Shutdown

Dumb beginner question here. Shoot me now. I managed to boot up my Pi 2 without the monitor being turned on, so now the display stays dark even when turned on. Tried changing the input and power cycling but I guess it was not detected by the Pi at boot so its not going to send a signal that way. so ...

Well there is a counter argument that a lot is learnt whilst trying solve a problem. If everything went so smoothly then a lot of knowledge could be missed. 3 years ago when I got my first pi I had similar frustrations as Linux was completely new to me. You can still see my rant posts on these foru...

Without wishing to stir the pot, but seeing as it has come up... Naturally it also appeals to the elite geeky types who want to hack and create a...

You don't state this in your question, but you may have already done so apologies if so

My advice for any network related interruptions (power outages etc) is to reboot your modem/router and any other related gear. Usually fixes network problems right away. Maybe it will here

Good luck

Okay, still no luck and started to really ticked off. This is supposed to be easy for teachers and kids. I've followed numerous basic beginner lessons over the past two weeks and none of them yield anything close to the correct result. I am not an idiot, I know it's not me. I've used computers for a...
