Re: Interpretor List not displayed in Thonny

I felt it may be useful for others if I finish this thread with a conclusion. I can confirm that updating my Raspberry Pi to the Buster version of the Operating System has solved the problem and that the newly installed version of Thonny now allows the compiler to be selected from the bottom right h...

It failed straight away and comes back with a message:

Code: Select all

Unable to locate Thonny
which seems strange as I can load from the Programming/Thonny Python IDE tab

Thank you. I will try the commands you have listed.
I am assuming from what you have said, that Thonny 3.1.0 is not the latest.

Thonny 3.1.0 as stated above.
I rebooted my Pi but it did not make any difference.

Interpretor List not displayed in Thonny

Pico plugged into Raspberry Pi USB, Thonny 3.1.0 I am trying to load MicroPython into my Pico but I do not have the Interpretor in the bottom right corner of Thonny. Page 161 of the Raspberry Pi Handbook 2022, appeared to cover this problem by suggesting updating Thonny using: sudo apt update &&...

1.28" Round Display (Waveshare Product SKU: 19192)

@B Goode
I think you have hit the nail on the head as I bought it from the Pi Hut, not Pimoroni.
I will try to change the title of my thread.
You are also right because it is a Waveshare product and it was on the site you have linked that I have been trying to follow.

Re: LED Bar Graph (tkinter Display on Screen)

@gordon77
This is getting better all the time as I liked the way that the data was presented in the Class example but I always try to avoid Classes.
Your method uses a similar style for presenting the data without the use of Classes.

Thank you very much for taking the time to describe this method.

After further testing, I have found that the update command needs to go before each sleep.
It is a very easy solution though.
Thanks again,

Re: LED Bar Graph (tkinter Display on Screen)

@ghp I apologise. I had not realised that you had included new code, as I tend to avoid Classes. However, I have now run your code and on screen it works perfectly but each segment of my LED Hardware is fully ON all the time and I cannot switch them off (apart from unplugging the -ve) I do like the ...

Re: LED Bar Graph (tkinter Display on Screen)

@ghp Thank you for your suggestion. I understand what you mean about error prone code but the fact is that it works perfectly within the shell output (ie printing the names of the colours when they should be displayed) and on the actual Hardware LED Display. Also, I am not at all keen on Classes as ...

Thankyou for your suggestion but I had already tried that - it makes no difference. The onscreen tkinter simulation still waits until the shell program (or the LED Hardware) have completed before displaying.
