Re: pi 400 - Reinstall original OS with games and Minecraft Pi

I do believe what you want is the "Raspberry Pi OS with desktop and recommended software".
https://www.raspberrypi.com/software/operating-systems/
The imager installs "Raspberry Pi OS with desktop" by default

Re: The python version

If need be you can go back to Buster. You can get the image file here.
http://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian/images/
When you run the imager select the "use custom" option, then point it to the file you downloaded.

Re: Update the .uf2 file

There is a flash nuke file here that will reset it back to the factory default state. https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/microcontrollers/raspberry-pi-pico.html#resetting-flash-memory Micro Python (Raspberry Pi PICO) is what you want displayed for Interpreter. I have a Reset Button added to m...

Re: Official Pi Zero case doesn't fit new Zero 2

Mine was very hard to get in. And when I finally did get it to fit, I had no HDMI signal. Official HDMI cable. Also a PITA to get back out, really thought I was going to break something prying it out.

Re: Expectations of the Pi versions.

There some nice looking Mini PC's etc out there, and the no assembly required will appeal to some. For me its all about the GPIO , DSI and CSI headers. Almost all of my setups have something connected to the GPIO header, my Pi 400 has some Pimoroni Breakout Garden stuff plugged in. And those that do...

Re: Expectations of the Pi versions.

EDIT: If a Pi 4A happens I'll be :D. I'll happily swap some of my 3A's for 4A's. If it happens, I'm not asking for one etc. IMHO, if you have reasonable expectations, you won't be disappointed by the Pi 5 when it happens. +1. Pi5B is, we know, in the works...but (of course) not when. Pi4A...I'm act...

Re: Expectations of the Pi versions.

I'm a retired electronic technician. The electronics side of it is what appealed to me and got me started. The low cost of getting started also helped. I think my first Pi was a 2B. Learning Linux and Python along the way is just a nice side adventure for me. My Pi 400 is currently the Pi I use regu...

Just for the record, I didn't mean to suggest that anybody should do this. Just that it had been done, can be done. This is definitely one of those "do so at your own risk" ventures.

Re: The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W Thread

Just booted mine up. It wouldn't fit correctly in the official Pi Zero case. I got it in but no HDMI signal. There is a lip on the HDMI jack that keeps it from going in the cutout on the case. I was using the Official HDMI cable. Once I took it out of the case it worked fine.

Is it ?

Code: Select all

dtoverlay=vc4-kms-dsi-7inch
If yes, tried that didn't work, made no difference as far as the touch screen is concerned.

Re: Touchscreen fades gray with bullseye

I don't even get that far. Pi 3B+ and Version 1, 7 inch touch screen. On the first reboot after the resizing file system I get the rainbow splash screen, The Pi logo splash screen then a blank screen with just a flickering backlight. Have not been able to get past that screen even with an HDMI monit...

Re: Bullseye - Comments and bug reports thread.

Doesn't work at all with "Raspberry Pi 3 Model B V1.2" and official touch display. You get message that filesystem was resized and system is rebooted, then Raspberry Pi logo which fades to striped screen, and then nothing ( video ). I waited several minutes after that video ends but nothi...

Re: Bullseye - Comments and bug reports thread.

I was under the impression you don't have an HDMI? Which resolution is it? I didn't, when I started. Only hooked it up to see if I could get an image and maybe get farther. It was connected to my Pi 400 and has been connected to various other Pi's with no issues. Just to clarify, I commented out th...

Commenting out that entry out doesn't help any either. I now get the rainbow splash screen on my HDMI monitor and that's it? Just a blank screen on both the HDMI and touch screen. Just imaged a known good SD card from my Pi 400. Then put it in a Pi 3B+ with the official 7 inch touch screen. It did the resizing and rebooted. I get the splash screen then nothing? Just a flickering backlight? Same thing if I power cycle it.

Re: Suggest: additional power supply options

I think a supply for a whole project from the Pi foundation is infeasible, but what would be great is a good quality, buck-boost DC-DC supply with a wide 2.5V to 16V input via DC barrel jack. Either 5.1V out via a USB A port and or a USB C port (for use with both older and newer models, particularl...
