All mags from Pi Press on Bookshelf?

Thanks for your work with books. Guys, on your Bookshelf app is half of your press mags to download on your phone - is this just a question of time when this will be complete or half eMags is for community and half is advertisement?

Re: My Pi2 Model B just died... will a Pi3 be an easy replacement?

Hi all, My Pi2 B just died today (long story - it's not a critique of the hardware - 100% user error) and I need to replace it. Simply question, is a Pi3 an easy replacement by which I mean - can I pop out the SD card (from the Pi2) and expect it to boot the new Pi3 and work as is? Or do I need to ...

Re: Will any small board PC benefit visibly from active DDR?

It is normal in big PCs to build 2 x DDRs in slots for higher throughput. So WHY do some builders do it? You already said why. It gives them higher memory bandwidth. I've no idea how "active DDR" means dual channel. Question is - does it have HERE any usable gain ? No space for an additio...

Re: Will any small board PC benefit visibly from active DDR?

Yes, we know what DDR is. What does "active" mean in this context and why do you think it might be significant? It is normal in big PCs to build 2 x DDRs in slots for higher throughput. So WHY do some builders do it? Question is - does it have HERE any usable gain ? Surely you actually me...

Re: Missing Rocks’n’Diamonds in Raspbian repo

No idea whether it will get in to our repos. You are the only person who's asked! But if it works there is no reason to reject it, maybe just no time to do it. I know of course it is Ubuntu x86, but there is SRC too = it worked for me even with Jamesh code without one lib! I asked first before cca ...

Re: Missing Rocks’n’Diamonds in Raspbian repo

I quickly tried to build this from source, but get an odd error that I don't have time to explore. But if anyone else want to try.. sudo apt install libsdl2-dev libsdl2-image-dev libsdl2-mixer-dev libsdl2-net-dev netpbm git clone https://git.artsoft.org/rocksndiamonds.git cd rocksndiamonds make Wor...

Missing Rocks’n’Diamonds in Raspbian repo

This is only Linux where it is missing: on Ubuntu and clones its available.

Can someone with existing dev access to RAspbian repair it?

Thanks.

Re: Still confused, what is better for my SD card?

I heard ARM drivers in SD cards are created to 1 000 cycles at least... I used Pi 2 year with Verbatim 32 GB and card is still kicking too! I am data minimalist! Few MB up to few hunderds of documents are more then enough for me, so I use my old cards (SLC only!) from cameras: CF, MS Pro, MMC, SD, ...

Re: Still confused, what is better for my SD card?

But i am not sure still - if you fill 32 GB to 30 GB and let it sit, it will really move and rewrite itself all data around? Is this directly in SD specs somewhere? Logic says that if you have low GB capacity on SD, you should move it on PC sometimes and write again so it is always on another new fr...

Re: Still confused, what is better for my SD card?

Some products are limited to 32 GB SDHC - ebook readers, tablets, consoles (NDS), ...

If you have 2-3 GB free, you are still writing on the same place, not?

Still confused, what is better for my SD card?

If you have on some few GB, is it better to let AI shuffle data after each write and let it move and re-write data randomly or after each cca 1 month write whole card again, so written places "move around" more?

Pls advice! Thx!

You don't really HAVE to use it. Nobody is holding you by knife... Use Firefox mostly and Kroum just for YouTube etc.
