Re: Moving Linux Kernel to 5.10

Title of #4112 So why are you commenting there when your problem is on a Pi4? Conflating unrelated issues is not helpful. Because of this? https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=251645&start=475#p1830032 And because maybe the Github issue is related, and the title is just n...

Re: Moving Linux Kernel to 5.10

I recently did a fresh install on my Raspberry Pi 4 (2GB) and installed Kodi. It crashes when playing HEVC unless I use kernel 5.4. I've detailed all the various permutations I've attempted in this GitHub comment: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/4112#issuecomment-856380238 Title of #411...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspberry Pi OS / Raspbian Buster

Hi Rascas, I see you maintain the kodi package for ARM debian. You may be interested in upcoming Widevine blob changes that will break playback on ARM (probably in 5-6 days from now) You can read here: https://github.com/raspberrypi/Raspberry-Pi-OS-64bit/issues/11#issuecomment-838118259 & here ...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspberry Pi OS / Raspbian Buster

I have problem with jerky playback of MPEG-4 videos . The problem is with RaspiOS 10.8 Buster running Kodi 18.7 : I have several 1366x768 pixel videos, encoded by the XviD library at 6000 kbit/s (about 3 Gb per hour). The videos played nicely with my Rasperry Pi 3, but goes jerky on the Pi 4. On th...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspberry Pi OS / Raspbian Buster

(I actually built it using systemd-nspawn on a server with qemu, so the Pi was not involved in the build process for me at all.) Trying to cross-compile it myself, not succeeding yet, can you elaborate a bit on how to do that with systemd-nspawn? BTW using Ubuntu 20.10 here, and I'm totally new to ...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspberry Pi OS / Raspbian Buster

DVB-T2 HEVC streams (1080p 50fps) from the TV-HAT are still playing fine here on an updated RPI4. And I don't see problems on these files: https://x265.com/hevc-video-files/ So I guess the problem is in some HEVC files. Is there an example file that does not work? Also Franck3679, can you play those...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspberry Pi OS / Raspbian Buster

The reason is a mix of many things. First, I am having a lot of work in this time of this pandemic, that is the main reason. Second, Kodi 18.7 also works fine for me, I use it almost every day at night on 2 of my RPi 3, and 18.9 brings almost no changes especially for the RPi, not even bug fixes. A...

Re: [Guide] Kodi on Raspberry Pi OS / Raspbian Buster

I'm pretty content with Kodi 18.7 on Pi 3, but would like to ask the same question as the gentleman before me: What is the reason for version 18.9 being absent in the repos? Or has anyone succeeded with building his own binaries? The reason is a mix of many things. First, I am having a lot of work ...

Re: Pi4 4k 60hz issue

jamest, thank you for your response. Actually I'm using a QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution, which is a perfect resolution for a 32 inch screen. I thought that resolution was not supported on the Pi, but it works fine. Also I was thinking about buying an official HDMI cable, but as I understand correctly e...

Re: 4kp60 not working

I'm also puzzled by the fact that I'm able to set the desktop on a QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution, while that resolution is not supported by the Pi4: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/config-txt/video.md The LG reports (2560x1440/59hz) AFAICS you need a UHD (4K) screen instead of a...

Re: Pi4 4k 60hz issue

No luck with the new micro HDMI cable unfortunately. Unfortunately I don't have another 4k display or another pi 4 to swap out. Sounds like I'm out of options to get this to work. Have you ever got 4k60 working on the LG UK550? I have the same monitor, and not able to get it working either on a Pi4...

4kp60 not working

New Pi400 and troubles to output 4kp60 on my LG32UK550. (should have posted it in troubleshooting) 4K60 on the monitor is working fine with laptop. Using a Amazon Basic HDMI2.0 micro-cable 1.8m. Added to config.txt: hdmi_enable_4kp60=1 From EDID: HDMI0:EDID preferred mode remained as CEA (97) 3840x2...

Re: Understanding difference Pico and Zero in retro-gaming

The RP2040 effectively has a larger level 1 cache than zero which only has 16K (this seems to be the blocking factor with my code as is). Also zero only has one core which makes life a bit harder. My been emu version runs great on Pi 2, and above. it can[/] probably be made to run full speed on a z...

Trying to buy a 400 in NL since mid December. Delivery date is postponed twice and is now somewhere in March. Understanding difference Pico and Zero in retro-gaming

I bought a couple of Pico's to try the new toy out. The extensive documentation and support is a real joy. The BBC micro demo's of Graham are impressive: https://www.youtube.com/embed/WaPJmCgseQw But I wonder: why can't a Zero do the same (with bare metal programming). Isn't it better suited with a ...

Re: problem with TV hat - no channels found

You should still be able to use the free German DVB-T2 signal.

Look up your region:
https://git.linuxtv.org/dtv-scan-tables.git/tree/dvb-t/

But you'll need an antenna. Probably a stripped coax cable (20cm) near a window is enough.
