Re: How to setup a Pi as a gateway (2 different mobile provider)?

Hello, I have an unsual setup after having moved to the country side. I have a FritzBox 7490 usually used as my main DSL router. But here I do not have a good dsl / land line anymore and rely on 2 mobile data providers cause the cheap is usually good, only sometimes very slow or dead and in these c...

Re: TUTORIAL: Mobile Hotspot via Raspberry Pi (WiFi-to-WiFi Router)

What would I have to change if I don't want nor need a hotspot running on the pi ? I simply wanna connect a pi via LAN cable to my main router (which has currently no DSL connection due to the flood damages in our region which will need a couple months to be repaired) and simply use the Pi's intern...

Re: How to use a pi as a ROUTER to provide INTERNET from a cell phone (after a flood desaster)?

For all those suffering from infrastructure chaos there is a 20 to 40€ solution far easier to achieve than a Pi solution. Get a Huawei E5576 mobile router which offers a WiFi extender. This means that you use this Huawei mobile Router with a sim card to provide internet access to your homes router -...

Re: How to use a pi as a ROUTER to provide INTERNET from a cell phone (after a flood desaster)?

seem to be a complicated topic and I might have to sell the Pi and get a mobile router that is capable to do the job if a Pi can not achieve it at least right now. - just a bit disappointing considering that floods and other desasters happen quite often and too many all seeking for instant solutions...

Re: How to use a pi as a bridge to provide internet from a cell phone (after a flood desaster)?

This Pi needs to be a router, not a bridge. The uplink is network 192.168.178, downlink is 192.168.0 EDIT In the router, make sure the gateway is set to the Pi’s IP address, 192.168.0.2 in the DHCP configuration pages. Thanks a lot for your advices :D :D :D about the pi as a router :D instead of a ...

SOLVED: How to use a pi as a ROUTER to provide INTERNET from a cell phone (after a flood desaster)?

I had been searching for this topic for quite a while and did not find a solution, so here my situation and question, how to setup that piece I would call a bridge but could also be something different. We rarely suffer from floods but from time to time from bad DSL landline connection in general an...

UPDATE ISSUE Pi 400: dpkg: unrecoverable fatal error, aborting: files list file for package »libpaper1:armhf« is missing

This issue happened during an update on my Pi-400. I guess it has nothing to do with corrupt SD cause I have already restored it from a dd image on a different SD where I got the same error. dpkg: unrecoverable fatal error, aborting: files list file for package »libpaper1:armhf« is missing final new...

Re: SOLVED: file explorer "Open in Terminal" does not start the usual terminal from desktop

I am not sure why you had trouble? The default setting x-terminal-emulator %s worked fine for me. Font changes done from lxterminal followed into File Manager.... no problem for me. Also x-terminal-emulator is just a symlink to lxterminal , so using one or the other should not make any difference. ...

@typxxi - welcome back! Q. Why can't I set the time to whatever I like? A. You can. At least you should be able to. I don't see any problem to set any valid date/time you like. Just tab between the fields and use the cursor keys to update the field accordingly. Or use the mouse. If you are setting ...

Pi OS4 Update broke my Zero W's WiFi connection !

first things first: hardware is working on the router and zero side perfectly. Proof: I have installed Raspbian back then under PiNN to always have an access and repair or restore point. PiNN relies on LAN / Internet connection so if I boot into PiNN I still got their last update yesterday and could...
