Re: SSH-ing through ham radio bands.

I was wondering If there was a way to SSH through ham radio bands, rather than wi-fi. Technically yes, but you need to have hardware that supports tcp/ip networking. AREDN is a project that re-tasks wifi gear to use for HAM https://www.arednmesh.org/aredn-advantage https://www.arednmesh.org/content...

Re: Use cases for the pi pico?

What would be some use cases for the pi pico, other than a GPIO pin controller? - Multicore server? - Does it run Linux/android? - Pi hole? (Network switch that blocks or masks ads) - web server? Re: Raspberry pi smartphone hardware?

If it did happen I would guess that would be as an off-shoot of a Pi specifically designed for battery-powered IoT; if it were something which just happened to have everything a smart phone would need. I'm speculating, but the closest I think we currently could get to a smartphone with Raspberry Pi...

Re: Raspberry pi smartphone hardware?

I grow increasingly frustrated with the available smartphone producers. However, going without one is near impossible in today's world. Planned obsolescence, exorbitant costs, coorporate lobbying against right to repair, and the spying-- it is all a bit too much. I love the new raspberry pi 400. I ...

I would love to see a mechanical keyboard with a Pi 400 built in thus selling the Pi 400 board bare would help facilitate momentum toward that goal.

Re: Video Chat on the Raspberry 4

I haven't tried this but you can use the native x86 Zoom client on a Raspberry Pi using Box86. It should work better than using a web browser.

Re: UPS compatible with aluminium passive case

You could go with usb power banks that don't have momentary pass through power loss. Though in the long term it's not ideal because the lipo cells wear out faster when kept at full charge.

I tend to stick to the Alfa usb wifi adapters for long range. ZMI PowerPack Ambi can apparently handle power pass through without interruption.

viewtopic.php?f=63&t=262564

I wouldn't rely on a cigarette lighter adapter in automotive environment to provide a clean steady source of power for a Pi.

nano only exists because Pine's Pico editor had licensing problems . It's not an editor I enjoy, but I see why Raspbian uses it and is embedded in the docs. Ha wow. I never knew that nano existed as a spin of pine (but now that I think about it, it makes sense). I first learned using pine/pico back...

Re: Powering Pi Zero with AA batteries

Why not use a USB power bank. A small unit will be roughly the same size as 4 x AA in a case and give better life and without the need for step-down transformers. I run a Pi 3B+ with a 10000mah power bank and it runs for a long time. The OP said it needed to be AA cells because LiPo cells would be ...

How about one of these? 5V / 150W.

That would definitely work assuming you minimize the voltage drop by using good connectors and keeping the wire length short.

Okay. So I guess the safest option is to use a traditional power strip with dedicated Power supply for each Raspberry Pi. For Pi use you really want uniform power per port and each port able to supply at least the minimum. Amazon Simultaneous charging for your laptop (up to 45W), mobile devices (up...

I would like to screw it to the outer enclosure I'm not understanding exactly what you are looking for. Please add more detailed description. I will add there are very few Pi cases / enclosures with mounts for 2.5" drives. Most I've seen are custom 3d printed results from Google image search.
