Re: Tinier2040

Building phase of Tinier2040bot. Motors are superglued together, with 19.7mm between wheel outsides. 401215 lipo has been superglued onto the motors already in panned orientation. Tinier2040 lies on reduced in size Pololu DRV8833 motor driver — they will be added on top of Tinier2040 base for smalle...

Re: Smallest Pico Robot?

20211205_220712.15%.jpg Pico4MLcbot is completed now (bottom row left, top row from left are Tiny2040bot, Picobot, Toycarbot). I found no way to put/get files via wireless RP2040 MicroPython REPL onto/from the board. But to my surprise ampy cannot only deal with serial and USB, but with telnet as w...

Re: Tinier2040

I was really lucky that I got side-tracked several times last week from rebuilding motor+wheel+motorcontroller block. Why? Today two 401215 60mAh lipos arrived via Ebay from the UK, really expensive with 7.72$/pc, and with even more shipping 34$ in total. But these lipos are really worth it from sma...

Re: kickstarter "OpenCV AI Kit - Lite" (2xOV7251 + 1xIMX214)

From kickstarter update #8: Auto-Focus -> Fixed Focus for Color Camera on OAK-D-Lite We're thinking we should change the OAK-D-Lite to use a fixed-focus color camera instead of an auto-focus camera. The `why` is that fixed focus allows use in high-vibration environment environments, with little loss...

Re: We Made A 16MP Autofocus Camera Module for Raspberry Pi

I got a sample from Lee, see photo below. It is the very first of all cameras I ever received that came in enclosure case with cable already connectecd. All I had to do was to screw the enclosure backside onto tripod. Is this fully open source or does it require a closed source library/module? From ...

Aducam has a camera with focus control. Is it used here? No, that camera is of the size of v1 and v2 camera modules. The 324×324 monochrome rolling shutter hm01b0 camera used in Pico4ML is tiny, I used online .stp file viewer to get the dimensions: https://www.uctronics.com/arducam-hm01b0-qvga-cmos...

Re: Smallest Pico Robot?

Those tiny SPI 320x240 cameras and Pico look like it they can make it possible now at least in 1:87. If someone doesn't make a Pico/camera/motor driver PCB I might have to do one myself ;) My Pico4MLcbot from last posting is created on top of older Arducam Pico4ML module that has 324x324 camera, 16...

Re: Smallest Pico Robot?

Thanks for the Nanosumo link, but 1 cube inch is too big for what I want to get (perhaps 16mm side cube robot). Regarding the wheels, my current rubber wheels have contact on 2.8mm length to ground, which is important for fast turns or braking. Today I received new tiny lipos; I had one 401015 25mAh...

Re: is it possible to boot over wifi yet?

One can connect these cheap ESP-01 programmers with ESP-01[S] inserted into USB port: https://forums.raspberrypi.com/download/file.php?id=50920 If the module runs WifiToSerial.ino example, they can connect to home network directly on power up. I use the ESP-01 for wireless Pico MicroPython REPL wit...

As Joan said, leds have two inputs only. I use IR led connected to pins 37+39 (GPIO26+GND) for turning my Pi400 into a KVM switch (Keyboard+Video+Mouse). On the photo you can see how I soldered 100Ω resistor in line with the IR led: https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=321840 https://forum...

Possible to run MicroPython on one core and C SDK code on the other?

Re: Tinier2040

Do you have access to a 3D printer? I was wondering if you could design and print a simple gear system for the motors to have them at 90 degrees to the wheels, so they would sit longways under the main boards and both wheels could be level rather than one behind the other. No need for 3D printer, s...

TX cable broke, so I did remove RX cable as well. Then I powered ESP-M2 from Pi400 GND/3V3 — and got reboot of Pi400; likely the ESP-M2 module did draw too much current. But after reboot all is fine. Since stock ESP8266 MicroPython was flashed onto the module, MicroPython does not "know" t...

Could you reduce the height even further by removing the buttons and USB from the tiny2040? If they are still required, perhaps bring them out on thin wires?
