ok thanks a possible option - be interesting to see if this does not interfere with the onboard wireless like my previous effort.

RTL8125 PCIE NIC with CM4 not working

I'm adding a Realtek RTL8125 PCIe card to my CM4 I/o board. I have the latest Raspbian Lite with kernel 5.10.17-v7l+ and I thought this supported this chipset: https://linuxreviews.org/Realtek_RTL_8125 It shows up in lspci: 01:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device 8125 ( f...

Re: Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 availability & 7 month Lead time

RS Components UK say 12.4.21
Farnell/CPC may have some variants 5.3.21
Other small suppliers seem later than this or currently don't know.
So back orders from October don't seem to be getting fulfilled either.

Re: CM4 IO Board availability

What a shame... I hear this sort of thing all too frequently in the UK. " you can't do that', 'its not our problem' 'if you don't like it - tough' etc etc.... I'm taking more and more projects overseas these days, and certainly get a better response and 'can do' attitude. So lets hope for somet...

Re: CM4 IO Board availability

Indeed you have sold a lot of PIs, and exceeded your expectations at each generation. As you also state there is a known fixed capacity in manufacturing so including that I'd expect your predicted market needs to to be a bit more accurate by now! Hopefully communication with partners/resellers will ...

Re: CM4 IO Board availability

Is it worth trying to reset expectations maybe via a blog post? It sounds like a lot of people are getting frustrated with the very variable messaging different sellers are giving and may not look or see (or unfortunately believe) your postings on the forums. If people expect things in Jan/Feb, rat...

Re: CM4 IO Board availability

Well, they are on sale now, and we are making them as fast as we can. When I posted a couple of weeks ago, the estimated delivery for orders already in was as I stated - that still stands. Orders that have been made since then, will obviously be later than that (which was mid January or thereabouts...

Re: CM4 IO Board availability

jamesh; Please refer back to my post on the subject earlier in this thread. That is the current state of play. Is there any reason people don't believe me? Well back in October "the current state of play" was "on sale now": https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/raspberry-pi-compute-m...

Re: CM4 IO Board availability

There were a few CM4 Lites at CPC end of last week but today nothing. if I find anything I'll post ASAP. I spoke to a few of my main suppliers and they have 100s (in some case 1000s) of Cm4, I/o etc customer orders backed up. They have spent most of their time answering calls from angry customers......

Re: CM4 IO Board availability

Just been on the phone to CPC/Farnell about availability as my order got delayed again to December 20th .... They look into it and then inform me it will actually be January for the CM4 module and later for the CM4 I/O !!! They place the blame squarely on the supplier and say it is out of their hand...

Yeah flippin' "stuff" always gets in the way..... :D

I guess the consumer/hobbyist RPI products were priority over the compute/industrial products then.

Re: CM4 IO Board availability

We knew it would be popular, but we have a set production capacity, that deals with the entire product range, and with the Pi400 coming out as well, it's all been a bit busy. So I guess the secret is when you announced it you should have said "Available from Feb 1st 2021" Everyone goes ' ...

Re: CM4io cad files

I don't use Kicad but I did try a nightly build on an intel box running Lubuntu 18 LTS. it did seem to open the schematic I had a top PCB outline and the 3d was just a green PCB with the names of the components on it. The step file of the CM4 module I used Solidworks e-drawings free viewer on a Mac(...

Re: CM4io cad files

The 2D top view in the doc. is from Kicad, but there is no equivalent rear end view.
Maybe I'll have to wait for the 3d model and try and extract something useful from that.

Thanks for the speedy reply.

3d is useful too. If there is something like the black and white 2d dimensions top view for the connector view that would be fantastic.

CM4io cad files

Is there a dimensional drawing of this board looking at the connectors? All I could find is one that looks down from the top.
TIA.

Thanks - interesting that it uses a seemingly different driver.
