Re: Prioritise Access Point via wpa_supplicant

Try: Code: Select all wpa_cli -i wlan0 reconfigure Thanks, that worked. I tried a few commands with wpa_cli and actually thought I had tried reconfigure but guess I tried so many that I thought should work that I ended up confusing myself. Restarting interfaces, wpa_supplicant.service and networkin...

Prioritise Access Point via wpa_supplicant

Running Buster headless on a Pi Zero I have two separate APs in my home, I have both APs set up in my wpa_supplicant.config with a 'priority' setting so that it will connect to my preferred AP if both available. All works fine. Experimenting, if I HASH out the connected AP in the config file then tr...

Re: Same image on different Pis

I´m working in a project where I have to use several Pis that do almost the same things but with some little differences. As you can imagine, making any change is tedious because I have to make it in every single Pi, so my idea is to create a single SD image and apply the changes there. I don´t kno...

Re: html to image on a Pi Zero W

Are you trying to take a screenshot of what appears on your screen and have an image of that?

An html file is just a text file with browser codes so not 100% sure of what you actually are trying to do.

Thankyou That worked just fine.

You have made a 75 year old very happy.

I am so pleased, am 72 myself.

I use that command often with a friend in California, ssh is amazingly flexible.

Re: rfkill soft blocked

You can't unblock everything using rfkill as it only does the currently available wireless interfaces. The persistent rfkill block/unblock flags are kept in /var/lib/systemd/rfkill You'll see several wlan files because of the differing SDIO controller addresses I mentioned previously. Running rfkil...

Re: Cannot ssh into my pi from Malta

I have enabled vnc in raspi-config. I have setup a RealVnc account and am trying to connect from VncViewer it trys but ultimately failed. VNC Server is not currently listening for Cloud connections. I don't know how to enable that? Steve I don't use their cloud options. If you connect using the fol...

Re: Berryboot: Sharing Files Between OS'es on the Sdcard

Hi, I've been running a couple of raspberry pi's using Berryboot for a while. They've got 2 Os'es; Raspbian (Stretch) and Libreelec. They're used to show video files. Up to now, they've been used to either; - Show video files from the sd card (using kodi installed to the desktop in a folder on rasp...

Re: Cannot ssh into my pi from Malta

Maybe easiest remedy with you not being by your Pi is to SSH into your pi, run sudo raspi-config then go to 'Interface Options' then choose enable VNC VNC should be able to do most of what TeamViewer does, I'm not too familiar with Putty and understand tunnelling is done via the program rather than ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Internet speed slow, solutions?

To a certain extent I've given up trying to understand network speeds. Unless I have an issue I avoid getting too worked up about claimed speeds and actual speeds. I have two old Pi 1s, both only got two USB ports. Ethernet obviously 10/100 One device dedicated to Pi Hole, the other runs some server...

Hi all i run rasbian jesse 2016 Why? What possible reasons do you have for running an OS that was launched in Sept 2015 and went end-of-life in Sept 2017? What is stopping you upgrading to RaspiOS Buster and getting six years of bug fixes and enhancements installed on your system? Drive letters cha...

Appreciate what the instructions say about the 3b+ having WiFi disabled but the system I was using had the WiFi Country Code set correctly, The rfkill block isn't a single block that covers all WiFi. It has individual blocks for each of the WiFi peripherals used in a Pi and the rfkill unblock comma...

Re: Under voltage detected but power supply is fine

A Pi 3b doesn't take too much current headless. I've had one running an ADS-B tuner and on boot takes around 700mA then settles at 520mA so a normal phone charger should be able to power it if you are running the lite version, wouldn't recommend it but possible. As jamesh suggested, have you disconn...

Re: Raspberry Pi Stopped Booting out of the blue

Often Pi devices run with very little problem, occasionally problems occur and not always obvious. If it has been running 24/7 for 2 years then possibly the microSD is failing. You may be able to copy the present microSD over to a new one and therefore keep you setup. I've had a PSU failure too, sti...

Re: Scanner runs as Root only

The scanner group is not used by default in buster. Instead, permission is granted by file ACL to the most recently logged in local user. (If you are only looking at the POSIX permissions, you may not notice the fACL.) To restore traditional behaviour, create /etc/udev/rules.d/70-libsane-group.rule...

Also, consider checking the value of /proc/sys/net/ipv6/bindv6only if you haven't already (should be "0" if you don't want strange behaviour). Next step after that is to kill the running instance of saned, invoke it at the commandline as "saned -d128 -e -l", try to connect, and ...

Have you put the ipv4 subnet in the sane access list? Yes, tried machine specific IP address plus the network address with /24 suffix netstat -l only shows port 6566 on tcp6 but what I've read suggests it will pick up on ip4 From a remote terminal I can telnet in on port 6566 so it is open for conn...

Re: SWAP - might it help

1. Does the scanner work locally if you issue "scanimage -L" or "scanimage >image.pnm" from the command line on the Pi it's hooked up to? (No need to check the output of the second command—it's good enough if the scanner wakes up and scans.) 2. Is saned running? Is there a firew...
