Re: Custom PCB for camera V2 has very low Clock voltage

Hello,
I’ve bought the En version. As for the PU I don’t have the full board schematic with me, but you are right I think there’s no PU.
But the En pin is connected to a High signal, so this should not be a problem, should it?

Of course something is wrong somewhere.. :)

Custom PCB for camera V2 has very low Clock voltage

Hello, After having built and tested several custom PCBs for camera module V1.3, I've fabricated one for camera V2. I thought it should be easier since the schematics is free on the Raspberry site, but it doesn't work. One of the problems of the board is that the Oscillator outputs an oscillating si...

Re: Pico w/ Camera AND Touchscreen?

Hi @Gavinmic42, they use HDMI as a transport cable for signal of the camera to the Pi, it has nothing to do with the HDMI protocol, it's just a way to transport electrical and logical signals across a bigger distance. In fact I now use a miniDP cable to bring signals from a Pi camera to a Raspberry ...

Re: Pico w/ Camera AND Touchscreen?

On my part, the answer is because I need to use a different camera connector, more robust and user friendly than the ZIF FPC one, in order to have the camera at least 1 metre from the main CPU and to allow the user to plug/unplug the cable without worrying, as in consumer electronics. To do this I n...

Re: Pico w/ Camera AND Touchscreen?

Hello,
you can find in this thread my solution which does not include touch but this should not be too different.. plenty of GPIO pins are left free

viewtopic.php?f=144&t=314309

So it should definitely be possible

[SOLVED] Pico + Pimoroni SPI Display + ArduCAM 2MP camera (debug from MacOS)

Hello everybody, this is not a request, but a proof of concept that may interest someone. I was able in under three days (never seen a MCU in my life) to wire up a Pico with the ArduCAM 2MP camera based on the old and trusted OV2640 sensor, and the Pimoroni Pico Display 1.14" SPI display and ba...

Re: Receptacle connectors for CM4 besides Hirose

Actually I’ve just bought 6 receptacles for 7,5€ and shipment to my manufacturer in China is 0€.. so pretty cheap.

Have you tries shipping to Eu or Us to get such a enormous price?

Well,
me too, it's a first not to find equivalent parts, especially if they are connectors, but it happens.
Let's see if your suggestions helps PCBWay.
Thanks again

Re: Receptacle connectors for CM4 besides Hirose

Thank you @pidd,
usually I outsource everything to my PCB printer (PCBWay) but their usual chip vendors are out of stock. I don't know if they could buy from others.. I have written them.

So this component is the ONLY one that works with the CM4?

Receptacle connectors for CM4 besides Hirose

Hello,
My manufacturer in China says that the connectors for Cm4 from Hirose, DF40C-100DS-0.4V(51) or DF40C-100DS-0.4V(58) are both out of stock.

Do you have working suggestions for alternate parts?

Thanks

Re: Which display options for the Pico?

Hello, piggybacking on this thread, so it seems that a mere 320x240 colour display via DPI could be possibile, and maybe spare some colour bits since the least significants could be dropped almost harmlessly, would be totally feasible? I've just ordered a bunch of Picos and dev board and accessories...

Hi @reinoso, you could perhaps find some information on this thread https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=310501 I am having the same problem, mostly. I have opted for a temporary UART solution eating up 2 bits of DPI, then I will disable UART and revert to DPI after everything...

Well, dunno about NDA or so but in fact datasheet is available for free without registration on TI site https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps61193.pdf And yes, seeing it has capacitors and inductors is also a booster :) wow.. thanks, i was searching on their Workbench for something similar but with ...

Re: DPI pixel frequencies over 19.2MHz?

No problem :)
but wait.. you mean these little components acts also as voltage boosters? From the specs on Digikey it seems so! (the datashet link is broken) I could then spare the double circuitry that I have now, to boost current and to (non) regulate it via PWM :)
It would be wonderful..

Re: DPI pixel frequencies over 19.2MHz?

Thanks aBUGSworstnightmare, I've used mode 5 and it works with my GPIO connections and 19.2MHz. at the moment I will stick to this config and then further investigate, but recompiling the kernel, haven't done it in like 20 years? maybe it's too much. Re: DPI pixel frequencies over 19.2MHz?

Hi.. thanks for your answers, but this does not really answer my question which basically is: why certain pixel frequencies are output by the PI and while others are not? As far as I can remember, this was independent from the display and just related to the configurations: with a logical analyser c...

DPI pixel frequencies over 19.2MHz?

Hello, I've just connected a bunch of new DPI displays that I've bought from Ortustech to my trusted CM3+ carrier board. I had success with several Ortustech displays up to 320 x 240 pixel resolution. Now I am at a loss as to what is wrong with pixel frequencies for higher resolution ones. At the mo...

Wow.. so many answers, thanks a lot. First, thanks for clarifying how to use HDMI with a DPI display. Re: CM4: custom expansion board wit DPI/CAM/UART

hi PhilE, thanks. So I should use HDMI pins + TI chip to convert signal to LVDS then plug a LVDS display. Interesting, I will look for low consumption LVDS displays in the meantime, but please consider that, when everything is wrapped up, no UART will be needed, so this is just a DEV concern. And Ye...

[SOLVED] CM4: custom expansion board wit DPI/CAM/UART

CM3+ ob LiPo battery reboots (and reboots) after some hours

Hello, in my quest to build a portable device with the CM3+ I've built a carrier board, designing the PCB myself (!), that draws power either from a USB or a LiPo Battery. The setup works, I've been testing it since last spring. But when on battery I experience some (not so random) reboots. The setu...
