Re: How to turn of narrator?

Orca is not installed by default at least not on the one I did tonight. I had to install orca and then reboot and uninstall to get the VERY ANNOYING narrator to stop. Why would this get turned on at all by default? Doesn't make sense.

Re: Official way to configure IP

Never ever ever would I have thought to look at the dhcp c d configuration for overall network configuration. That is completely unintuitive. As for the documentation, it's curious that Google never found it. It's also very clunky that WifI needs to be disabled in the kernel boot configuration. I l...

Re: Raspberry PI4 - 8gb model

At last enough information in a post so I know what on earth it is about. Thank you. And at that point I bow out, because I have no idea how this works. Any help will need to come from community, because we don't use any of this stuff at Pi trading. Let me know what you need and I will be glad to t...

Re: Raspberry PI4 - 8gb model

Yes sir they are amazing and allow you to explore things for a fair price that wasn't possible in the past. I am so excited about the ESXi ARM on Fling I can't see straight. The sad thing is I have 17 PIs at the moment lol I have one PI2 / seven PI3b+'s / five PI4 - 2gb / three PI4 - 4gb / one Pi4 -...

Re: Raspberry PI4 - 8gb model

Are we talking about the version of Raspbian (or whatever it is called or whatever/whatever) that runs on X86? That'd be the only way that OP's comments make any sense. I am not using Raspbian or what they now call Raspberry PI OS, as I understand it the Raspberry PI OS 64bit is still beta I think,...

Re: Raspberry PI4 - 8gb model

As I understand it, the 3GB limit is a "per process" limit, not a limit on how much RAM can be allocated by the OS. Are you really running individual processes that require more than 3GB each? You are probably correct and no I am not running anything that would require that type of proces...

Re: Raspberry PI4 - 8gb model

According to this https://github.com/tianocore/edk2-platforms/tree/master/Platform/RaspberryPi/RPi4 it's called RamLimitTo3GB with the options of Disable = 0x00000000 Enabled= 0x00000001 (default) Yes sir I am only seeing it though when you try to do something different with the Raspberry PI. Like ...

Re: Raspberry PI4 - 8gb model

I am not here to argue but there is a Raspberry PI UEFI firmware setting that does have to be manipulated for the ram to get total usage, there is a limit of 3gb and it is not only the 32 bit one. Sorry I mis spoke and said bios I meant firmware. And what is this magic UEFI setting called? It is ca...

Re: Raspberry PI4 - 8gb model

I have disabled the 3gb limit in the bios Unlikely, since Pi computers have no BIOS, and what is this mysterious "3GB limit" you speak of? I assume you're runnin RPiOS 32-bit. Any memory limits you perceive would not exist in the 64-bit version. I am not here to argue but there is a Raspb...

Re: Raspberry PI4 - 8gb model

I have disabled the 3gb limit in the bios Please could you say what this 3GB bios limit is? To run large processes, you can use the 64-bit version of Raspberry Pi OS which has no practical limits. Download it from here: https://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspios_arm64/images/ I do agree, the 8GB PI4...

Raspberry PI4 - 8gb model

Hello Everyone, I have seen quite a few articles about whether a Raspberry PI can truely be a desktop relpacement for Windows in my mind with the 8gb model yes it can. I am not a gamer and I do watch some youtube stuff. I listen to music a lot through youtube. The only thing I can't do at this point...

Re: USB power supply to power 4x Pi 4B cluster

Need to power 4 Rasberry Pi 4B with a USB charging station and was wondering if this USB charging station w/ 2.4A each port will be enough power? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018S6X8N8/ I can't seem to find one that has all 4-port USB-C. Does such a device even exist? Did this work for you on...

Re: USB power supply to power 4x Pi 4B cluster

I know this is an older post but he is not charging anything RPI 4s do not charge he needs a power source to get it powered up. Good Lord. Why does everyone go so far off base when a Simple question is asked. I am considering this one: It has 5V/2.4A not sure if it's enough but I think it might be. ...

Re: KVM on rasberry pi 3

Hello Guys, I am trying to figure out what the sense is in installing KVM on a PI I mean you only have 1 gb of ram and you only have 4 cores (The 4 cores is understandable). I have a Bramble with 4 PIs clustered however I don't think it's actually using all 4 gb of ram (1 for each node) or the full ...
