Re: Configure full-KMS for headless X11 access

You can override hotplug by adding "D" at the end of the video option, see https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/fb/modedb.txt

eg video=HDMI-A-1:1920x1080@60D (this will work without edid) or video=HDMI-A-1:D if you have an edid override in place.

Re: Tweaking the kernel to optimize for RPi4

The blog post you linked is a very good introduction to ARM optimization with gcc - I've read through it, too, some 1-2 years ago. As the Cortex-A72 in RPi4 is baseline ARMv8.0 without any optional features or extensions the difference between just using march (without mtune) and mcpu is that it set...

Re: I2S Audio Phase

The first post mentions: If I attach the actual Audiophonics HAT the audio from the HAT is fine. I read that as the issues only occur with the HDMIpi board. Which could also mean that there's simply a GPIO signal missing when the HAT is connected via HDMIpi as the HDMIpi transmitter/receiver board o...

Re: I2S Audio Phase

Several things don't quite add up here. snd_rpi_hifiberry_dac has long been replaced with snd-soc-rpi-simple-soundcard and it's using the (downstream) wm5102a codec which only supports 192kHz. See eg here https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/blob/rpi-5.10.y/sound/soc/bcm/rpi-simple-soundcard.c#L261-...

Re: How to use pci express serial card in raspberry pi compute module 4?

You have to bump CONFIG_SERIAL_8250_NR_UARTS (eg to 8) and rebuild the kernel - rpi kernel configs have set this to 1 - and that limits the maximum number of ttySx ports to 1 (therefore the "ENOSPC" error).

Re: Moving Linux Kernel to 5.10

Filesystem corruption on RPi2 (probably RPi0-3, RPi4 looks fine) seems to be caused by the HDMI audio PR https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/pull/4053 that went into the 5.10.5 kernel https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-firmware/commit/5467199574e4a6621ded42359dfd9aadfc4793ee . It appears though that some HDMI-CEC compliant TVS (panasonic) do not turn back on?
It looks like (some) panasonic TVs need a special command sequence to turn on, see eg here: https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/22894 ... post145946

slice3-dt-blob.dts is the one for the slice with CM3

Re: Unable to set non-standard baud rate

Also have a look at the spd_cust and divisor options of setserial https://linux.die.net/man/8/setserial - you may have to install the setserial package with apt to get it. "setserial -a /dev/..." will show you the baud_base, just divide that by your baudrate to get the divisor. These allow...

Re: IR receiver on pin17 - not working??

The rc device is setup for rc6 decoding so unless your remote transmits rc6 scancodes it's normal you don't get anything from ir-keytable.

Use ir-ctl -r to check for raw pulse/space signals or ir-keytable -p all -t to enable all in-kernel protocol decoders.
