Re: Building and running dolphin (GC/Wii emulator) on the 64bit Raspberry Pi OS

I think you need to install qtbase5-dev and qtbase5-private-dev . Or at least I had that in the now rather-dated build instructions for vanilla Raspberry Pi OS . Not sure why it isn't included above in the 64-bit OS case. If you run into other missing dependencies after that, apt-file is handy for l...

Re: Building and running dolphin (GC/Wii emulator) on the 64bit Raspberry Pi OS

Can anyone confirm that this method works for Raspberry pi 4? This requires a Pi 4 or newer, as VideoCore4 on the Pi 3B+ and earlier does not support OpenGL ES 3.x. got all the way to the part of opening dolphin - it wasn't listed in my games section. To open, run: dolphin-emu I keep getting an err...

libGL error: No matching fbConfigs or visuals found I may not have made this clear in the original post, but you have to run from a desktop terminal window. It won't work if $DISPLAY is not set, as would be the case if you have no window manager and are running from the console, or through ssh. Aft...

Re: "failed to add service - already in use?" error

I tried to launch my own dispmanx legacy GL app on the Pi4B ... if (get_processor_id() == PROCESSOR_BCM2838) { puts("This demo application is not available on the Pi4\n\n"); exit(0); } If your application is not too complicated, could you run it on the Pi 4B with a shim to avoid dispmanx?...

Re: "failed to add service - already in use?" error

Hi MikeCoder. My Pi devices are stashed away so I haven't had a chance to try MCPIL, but I suspect it's vulnerable to the same missing wrapper problems that users often had encountered when setting up the old Survival Mode patch. The helper script at /usr/bin/minecraft-pi looks something like this: ...

Generally speaking, start here: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Bedrock_Edition_level_format#0.8.1_and_below If you set GameType to survival (0), it enables hearts, crafting, among other features. Alternatively, you can also make it so all new worlds default to survival mode by applying survival.bsd...

Okay that's impressive. Following the GitHub pages link goes to the handy URL: mcpi.tk The other user @Alvarito050506 has apparently committed quite a lot. Ideally we could have him posting here on raspberrypi.org / Gaming too, as the minecraftforum.net board is more dated (and buggy). Looks like he...

Re: Fullscreen mcpi

Yes, you can enter fullscreen manually by pressing Esc followed by Alt+F11, and there are multiple ways to script it including the mcpifull.bsdiff patch or SDL injection.

See this post or this one which link to a few other references.

Thank you for putting this guide together, complete with a proper helper script so that people don't run into errors due to missing the Mesa wrapper. Try setting up

Code: Select all

sudo apt install apt-file && sudo apt-file update
then

Code: Select all

apt-file search xf86drm.h
I'm not logged into a Pi at the moment, but x86_64 Debian Buster is probably the same in this case and apparently the header is part of libdrm-dev

Are you forcing the renderer to opengl1, or using the default cl_renderer opengl2?

I haven't looked at this in a while, but I didn't hear of the opengl2 performance issues ever getting resolved: viewtopic.php?p=1517531#p1517531

There are a few ways to get into full screen including forcing Alt+F11, but in your case it may be most straightforward to use the full screen patch, mcpifull.bsdiff: https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-editions/minecraft-pi-edition/1960005-survival-mode-patch As for running on startup, ...

That's awesome! It sounds much more straightforward than Wine + qemu-i386, given DOSBox is reasonably stable on Raspbian.

Re: minecraft-pi not launching

Sorry the last attempt didn't work out. This time, one thing I spot in D3FALT's settings is that the TV is a max resolution of 7680x7680. I wonder if minecraft-pi is trying to XF86VidModeSwitchToMode into that and failing. nightsky_sk can you post the output of your xrandr -q so I can get an idea if...

Re: Pi 4, Raspbian Buster and Wine 4.0

Sorry to hear that rpix86 has rotted. For Win16 programs all I can suggest doing is: sudo apt install dosbox then see how your applications hold up. For small Win32 programs, the easiest used to be the main idea in this thread with Wine + qemu-i386, because mikerr made a ready-to-go image . That one...

I've packaged up my working binaries so please try these out: ssam-tse_1.10-669dc91_armhf.tar.xz

If it still fails on your system then the problem is something unrelated to the build (see included README-tse-binary.md for tips).

I thought I had a monitor where I could test your identical situation, but I tested it just now and it turns out this one is 2560x1600, not 2560x1440. My 2560x1600 config works. 1080p is the tried and true configuration that works for most of us, and apparently you have that available. Could you run...

Same problem, as in you also see X Error of failed request: BadValue and the other error text as described in the first post? (Provided you run minecraft-pi from the terminal, not the start menu)

If so run

Code: Select all

xrandr -q
and report back what at says.

Then you will need to write code to do that in-game (if it's even possible). For what it's worth, hotkey mods in minecraft-pi are possible, although not easy. Here's a good starting point for doing it in Python: https://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/94870/capture-keypress-from-minecraft-p...

Re: Minecraft Pi edition (Stretch): IDs of the inventory items?

The item GUI texture can be found in /opt/minecraft-pi/data/images/gui/gui_blocks.png This would be more challenging in Python than some of the things you've done so far, but you could write a loop that draws text into that image. rpiMike's 4-line example to get all the items enumerated is pretty co...
