Re: I2S TDM skipping right channel

Okay, figured it out, thanks to this post: https://github.com/bschwind/ir-slinger/issues/16 . By default gpioInitialise will take control of the PCM clock, which breaks the use of I2S audio (even after the irslinger program exits, only rectified at reboot). You can add a call gpioCfgClock(5, 0, 0); ...

Re: I2S TDM skipping right channel

After much research (with 3 different soundcard dongles), I have determined that if you run "alsamixer", it corrupts the TDM (i2s) output permanently. alsamixer claims that it has no adjustments for the audio card (there isn't supposed to be any, so that is good), but leaving the app start...

I2S TDM skipping right channel

I have a strange problem. I have an externally clocked I2S audio running on the simple sound card and the right channel does not work for playback. It does work for recording. SDS1202X-E1.jpg Here is the DTS script I am using (based on the generic-lj): /dts-v1/; /plugin/; // Device Tree Overlay for ...

Re: STICKY: The I2S sound thread.

Have a look at the kernel documentation - Documentation/sound in the kernel tree or online here: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/v4.19/sound/index.html "Writing an ALSA driver" is a good start, it contains also info what hw_parans should do and how ALSA in general works. The ASoC sections...

Re: STICKY: The I2S sound thread.

Hias,

You are the first person to give me an actual idea in months of trying. Please explain. Is there a help link somewhere hidden on ".hwparams"?

Thanks,
-Erik

Re: STICKY: The I2S sound thread.

I have been searching and searching for an answer for this one (2 months so far), and I keep getting the runaround. I have a working I2S send/recv at 192KHz with external clock. How the heck do I switch the sampling rate (96, 48, 44.1, etc)? I have been assuming it is via I2C, but nothing I do sends...

Re: "Cannot open access to console. The root account is locked see sulogin(8) man page for more details."

I am getting this on my initial boot. It never reaches a point where I can login and do anything.

I am using the latest image from the downloads on a 32GB SD card. Anyone have any ideas?
