Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Hi jazzler. Thanks for the response.
I was stupidly confusing the GPIO designation on the header drawing with the actual gpio pins.
I have everything working fine. Thanks for the app and the project. :)

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Hi All
Is it possible to change the GPIO numbers controlled by the relays?
I need to use GPIO pins 7,8,23 and 24.
If it is, must the app be change or the Pi software?
Thanks

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Hi jazzler

Thanks for the reply. I had in mind an application to use the Pi and my smartphone to control a device which will not be near a home network i.e. caravan park.
I like your concept and will definitely use it around the house.

Does anyone know which bluetooth apps would be suitable?

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Hi All
Just found this post which interests me greatlly having recently upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy.
Is it possible to use the app via bluetooth to control the pi?

If this has already been mentioned, please point me in the right direction.

Thanks

Re: GNU library

Hi. The guile I have downloaded is -2.0.6, maybe I should go back to -1.6. Could this be an easier solution as it obviously runs on the RPI?

Hi. Trying to configure "guile" I found that installing "libgc" solved that problem. Now for the next one :!:

Re: GNU library

Hi Joan, thanks for the help.
My PI did not have the GNU library included, however after the latest upgrade the files required are now installed (it pays to upgrade regularly!).
However config is now looking for a "bbw-gc" package.
Any suggestions :?:

GNU library

Good day.
Can anyone tell me how to download and install "libgmp" (GNU m4) on the RPi.
I need this library to configure an SDR package.
Thank you

Re: IP configuration

Hi Guys. Thanks for the help. I have solved the problem myself, and in the process learned a lot more about the RPI. The solution is to set the DNS correctly in the resolvconf. file.
I guess the answer to any problem is out there on the forums some where :D

Re: IP configuration

Thanks rurwin

I can't access the RPi on the network, so no go there.
Not sure what VNC and SSh do, so I will try a USB stick (if it will read it!)
Otherwise laborious pen and paper.
I will post the results tomorrow.
Thanks for the patience :?

Re: IP configuration

Hi Burngate, thanks for joining in.
The set up parameters were given to me for the broadband wireless network and the other 2 computers on the network are configure that way.
I did not set the Bcast address, is was derived from the router (I assume).

Re: IP configuration

Thanks.
I have configured as suggested and I can now ping the WiFi and the server (10.0.0.1) with zero data loss.
However, I can't connect to the web or ping a website.
The RPi update also fails. Any more suggestion?
Thanks for your patience!

Re: IP configuration

Thanks for the reply. I can ping the router on 192.168.1.254, but not an internet address. The IP for the RPi is 192.168.1.44. The netmask is 255.255.255.248 and the gateway is 192.168.1.41 (the WiFi). The broadcast assigned is 192.168.1.47. These are shown in ifconfig. I need to set the DNS to 10.0...
