You need to edit:

/boot/firmware/cmdline.txt - you can Google the exact name.
Yes; it can work fine without UAS.

[ANSWERED]More and more users putting in their sig "volunteer" why?

I mean, we're all here because we like RPI's; some more than others.
I don't get why they put in their signature they're a volunteer, you're not; you're a user who just posts on the RPI forum.

Why is this? am I missing something?

Re: Case fan too loud..

Most probably, yes. I have two RPI4B 4GB, if I don't use a fan I idle at around 70c. under heavy-load I get throttled. My overclocked (2100MHz) Pi4's idle at 35.5C and 37C respectively and never throttle under any workload or stress test. Neither has a fan. Normal UK ambient temperatures. Not sure ...

Re: Case fan too loud..

Hi, i have bought a Raspberry case with a loud very loud fan. I read in this forum that I can install a diode 1N4148 to reduce the voltage from 5 to 4.3 voltage. I already have an 1N4007 diode. Can i use It ? And if not why ? Do you *REALLY* need a Fan :?: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/...

Re: Ubuntu 20.04 and Raspberry PI 4B USB does not boot

Yeah, it's not going to work.
You could always use:

https://github.com/pyavitz/rpi-img-builder

That has support for booting 20.04.2 with USB.
It works well and can use a mainline kernel or the latest 5.10 from RPI.

Re: OSMC Kodi 19 released

I wonder why... Bullseye is nearly here, why release now with Buster? OSMC (and LibreElec) is a minimal Linux OS which is setup to run Kodi only. They have nothing to do with other major Linux OS releases. You can't use the underlying OS with LibreElec but you *can* with OSMC. I turned OSMC into a ...

Re: Whats the general concensus around using Manjaro ARM?

Manjaro's XFCE is decent speed wise. but there's too many bugs. 100% CPU usage one 1 core because of a bluetooth bug. google attach-bluetooth and you'll see their devs talking about it. "sysctl" settings not getting loaded after a reboot breaking WireGuard. And the video driver fbturbo bre...

I updated to the June release of the EEPROM. anyway, was messing with my CM4 and wanted to try out Budgie. it wouldn't boot and the bootloader was from March 17th. which I thought was weird because I definitely updated it... I then updated the EEPROM to the latest BETA - think it's working. Why did ...
