Re: Octoprint and SSD?

Thanks, followed guide to the rule, still no go? Solid green light now after it flickering a while, but just stops. Looks like a duff unit?, as all my others worked without this hassle. Plug this drive into any of my others, and it just works :) SD works fine on this one, but that is it. I used R OS...

Octoprint and SSD?

Anyone out there managed to get Octoprint installed and running from an SSD drive? No go here :( Drive and cable are the same as my other 3 Pi 4's, which run Raspbian OS just fine on SSD, and Firmware/Bootloader etc are all @ 'latest'. Doing this headless, so can't see what error it reports, but jus...

Re: First Pi buyers advice

8Gb is unneeded. You will never use that extra 4Gb RAM on a Pi, even with an 64bit OS, unless your trying hard to do so?, even then it's a waste. The 4Gb unit is plenty enough, and even the 2Gb would do in most cases. I'd recommend the middle ground though, and you cant go wrong :)

Re: New Ubuntu Mate arm64 RaspberryPi 4 image (minimal and server images also available)

The image will work if you follow what I posted before. UAS needs to be disabled before first boot. You can re-enable again after the process has completed. This will stop the 'kernel panic' from happening. Here it is again for you: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=131&t=279323...

Disable Wifi & Bluetooth on Ubuntu Mate

Hello. Pi 4 running Ubuntu Mate 20.10. 2 questions: How does one go about disabling onboard WiFi and Bluetooth on Ubuntu as I'm using a way faster USB dongle instead. It works fine, but I'd like to permanently disable the onboard ones. How does one overclock on Ubuntu, as I can see no file for putti...

Following on from my last post, I have re-enabled UAS after first boot and setup, and it works! :) Boots fine thereafter with UAS enabled. Just disable for first boot.

Re: New Ubuntu Mate arm64 RaspberryPi 4 image (minimal and server images also available)

Only way I finally got this image to work, was by disabling UAS, BEFORE!! first boot. Adaptor is UAS compatible, and works fine on other images with UAS enabled, but not this one. So it will work if one does that, albeit at the expense of drive speed, which you probably wont notice anyway. Shutting ...

Interesting, thx. Any reason as to why it's 5.6Gb?

Will test and report back.

Re: RPI4 Direct USB Boot Ubuntu 20.04

Ubuntu 20.04 does not use ifconfig. It setup WiFi you need to give netplan the correct information. There are several guides on the web. https://linuxconfig.org/ubuntu-20-04-connect-to-wifi-from-command-line That should get you pointed in the right direction. Thx, yeah tried that, but didn't work. ...

I really can't understand how anyone can have issues with booting or " kernel panic ". Because quite a few are, including myself, that is just fact. My SSD, and confirmed compatible cable, work perfect with any other image, and have done so for quite a while now. Only 'your' image gives o...

It was bought from Amazon UK - /shrug
Amazon sell a lot of these cards, and a lot are fake, not all, but I've had 2 from them, returned of course. Best to test when you receive with 'H2testw' ;)

Likewise with any media, USB etc. Print out report at end, and send it back with item :)
