did you check the man page or gnome-weather(?guessing command) --help
The github doesn't list any commands that I could find. Help only shows --display=DISPLAY as a possible application option and some debug flags.

Re: Is it possible to pull data from server to Raspberry then to a Kindle

Android based kindle or a paperwhite/oasis?

If it's the android based one you could probably just install an FTP client and skip the pi entirely.

Anyway to auto refresh Gnome Weather?

I've googled the question and found an enhancement request on the github for it but other than that not many options also noticed the version on the pi repository is quite old... I have Pi Zero 2W hooked up that when it's not being used for other things I like to have it show the weather via the Gno...

Re: Can Zero (2) W be powered from desktop PC usb port

Tried to power it from a monitor powered USB HUB and it outright wouldn't turn on. No listed specs on the monitor that I could find though. I had a Dell monitor that I tried doing that with (can't remember the model - 1920x1080 IPS, probably about 8 years old). It wouldn't power the hub unless its ...

Re: The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W Thread

Possible to overclock the Pi Zero 2 W's Micro SD card slot? I remember that being a thing to eek out a little more performance on the Pi 3B but I don't remember how to do it or if the same steps would apply to the 0 2W dtparam=sd_overclock=100 In /boot/config.txt And should be no different to it us...

Re: Theoretical Question Old Pc -> Rpi

That's just installing Linux it wouldn't be related to the Pi in any way. Yes it would probably be faster and you also get access to x86 apps.

Pi Zero 2 W Canakit Max Bundle... I do not reccomend

Had one purchased so I could be ready to use it out of the box... I know these aren't official accessories but Canakit is an official reseller. It's in no way the foundations fault but this is more of a warning for anyone considering it. I've ran into 2 fairly big issues at this point. 1. The includ...

Official HDMI cable did not fit into case for official display -- used a simple screw driver to remove as much plastic as needed. Now cable looks as if it was visited by mice: https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=296184&p=1912302#p1912302 https://forums.raspberrypi.com/download/file.p...

I once moved a site from a 'beta' domain to a live domain by just redirecting the domain to the beta folder. The beta url still work if you know to type it in

Re: Date on download page?

The OP was concerned that the announcement/release date was not the same as the image dates. I explained why that was so (image creation date vs official release date), and then you claimed they were 11-08 images, which is incorrect and could be confusing to someone who might go looking for an actu...

Re: upgrade to bullseye

As it's not the recommended method (and the foundation specifically warns against it) you probably won't see much help. If you absolutely cannot afford to backup files and start fresh you might want to stick with Buster for a bit longer. You may be able to get by with uninstalling the faulting compo...

Re: Date on download page?

If you check the link it's the 11/08 image... No, it's not. Again, the release date is 2021-11-08, but the images are dated 2021-10-30 (check where the very link you posted leads). Only the 64-bit beta images are dated 11/08 (and those are still considered a beta, not stable release). Yes it is dow...

Re: How to upload GPS data to the internet?

Just so we're clear GPS satellites only send data never receive it from the device. Satellites send location data and then the device can use some math from the known location of the satellites to figure out where it is. There isn't a free way to upload GPS data via satellite. So if you have a way o...

On an unrelated note does anyone know of an HDMI dongle that fits the flirc case normally? If you're not too concerned about looks or durability, the "make-a-cable" HDMI parts from Adafruit have long connectors that aren't embedded in a plastic shell. Sadly, I'm concerned with both of tho...

Re: Raspberry pi 4 vs Nvidia Shield Pro

As with James, I'm not aware of issues with high bitrate HEVC. HDR is supported. It's not helped that very few player support configuring Linux appropriately (LibreElec now does). Upscaling to 4k is no issue to the HVS. The Shield Pro supporting Android as the default (only?) OS has better support ...

Re: Raspberry pi 4 vs Nvidia Shield Pro

If you can afford the Shield Pro and the only use case you have is a media box then it's not really a competition. We're comparing a $55 general purpose PC to a $200 purpose built TV box. The Shield Pro is going to stream up to 4k content where the Pi 4 will fall on its face with high bit rate 4k (e...
