Saying that a RAM drive will reduce writes to the SD Card, am I correct in thinking that a 8GB model will have less writes than a 2GB model or does the OS not work that way? Possibly, it depends on your usage. It also may reduce reads, which although they don't wear out the SD card, do help perform...

May as well ask for an excellent Python3 book too!

Thanks all!

It has been a while since I have coded, but that does not deter me ( 20+ years )!

Recommend me the great books!

I will try 256MB & 128MB today. I just put it to 512MB because I bought it thinking like a PC owner (been running PCs since 1995). Just for kicks I tried to put it up to 1GB but it seemed to top out at 896GB. Again, thinking like a PC person.... As a general thing, modern OS's such as Linux and...

Extending HQ Pi Cam

What would be the best extension to extend the camera cable too 100'+? Electrical outlets can be installed along the way if necessary, and I don't care what type of cable it needs to be - it could be a tiny csi->HDMI or the camera board ( 2 or 4 layer depending on shielding if that would help ) itse...

Out of curiosity do you know when this spec was added to the cards I don't know. Sandisk introduced them about three years ago. Reason I ask is because I was not aware this card was rated A2 until today, and I haven't used it in a couple years or so because about a year ago I used that card and it ...

Just a quick update - After seeing how little the setup used RAM, I moved the RAM GPU allotment up from default (76MB) to 512MB and that made a huge difference in streaming playback with both the A2 & A1 speed cards. Again, thanks for all the suggestions, Bob Thanks :D Regards SD Cards benchmar...

I boot and run from a SSD in a USB3 caddy. Works on my Pi400 and Pi4's. Been boot form USB since 3B days. I even use USB sticks, USB2 and 3 Handy to test other OS and having as a backup OS. The SSD trick is the USB3 to SATA chip, I use ASmedia. JMicron are a pain on USB3. Test by running "lsus...
