Re: 'No available video device' error in pygame

The following works fine on my Pi4 with official Pi 7 inch screen running Pi OS Bullseye 32bit (desktop booted to command line). Not sure why you used LCD-show if your using an official screen? import pygame,os,time, sys print('begin') print('python:',sys.version) print('pygame:',pygame.version.ver) ...

The official case, in my opinion is not fit for purpose, with almost zero airflow: https://images.prismic.io/rpf-products/6526e7f1-84ba-4f2c-905b-17d3fb6e01df_copy%20of%20pi4_case_angle2.jpg?ixlib=gatsbyFP&auto=compress%2Cformat&fit=max&q=50&w=1247&h=831 https://www.raspberrypi.c...

One method for displaying 2 temperatures (simulating with random) in a simple guizero app: from guizero import App, Text import datetime import random def getTemps(): text.value = '\n'+datetime.datetime.now().strftime('%H:%M:%S')+'\n' text.value += 'Temp1: '+str(getTemp(1))+'\n' text.value += 'Temp2...

Ordering a new SD card now. Might as well start fresh.

Re: Pygame

Is that all of your code?

I'm guessing its exiting before having a chance to play your wav.

Try adding the following at the start:

Code: Select all

import time
and the following at the end:

Code: Select all

while True:
    time.sleep(0.1)

Re: omxplayer not working: error while loading shared libraries: libbrcmEGL.so

Omxplayer is present in the default installation, so I assumed it was OK to use. But if that's not the case I'm happy to use something else - are there any recommended alternatives for streaming RTSP video? Omxplayer no longer supported, VLC recommended. https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php...

You should use the .is_pressed property:

Code: Select all

if Door_Open.is_pressed and Dark_Outside.is_pressed:
