Re: Automotive Pi projects

Not exactly what your asking, but I'm starting to learn how to use automotive instrumentation stepper motors for a non-automotive instrumentation project.

Re: Sound problem - Possible Update issue

Turned out not to be an update issue, because I updated one of the working SD backups and the sound still worked. The odd things was that the next day my trusty powered USB port failed. Before that, it was having strange things happen when retrieving photos from my new smartphone via this same USB e...

Sound problem - Possible Update issue [Solved]

Pi 400 Raspberry Pi OS 64bit Updated with: sudo apt-get update, sudo apt-get full-upgrade Not sure if this is a generic issue or a 64bit issue. All the normal sound experiences, like videos, browsers and media files, seem to work. The sound for FlightGear does not work. I keep two versions compiled ...

Re: Pi400 keyboard function test program?

Well, maybe they need to replace the keyboard with a touchscreen. Guess that would cost too much. Seems like a python (or what ever language) program would not be too hard to write, except the special function keys could be a problem. The problem is the time, most people don't have the time. Not to ...

Re: Pi400 keyboard function test program?

A couple online versions, but not what your looking for:

https://keyboardchecker.com/

https://www.keyboardtester.com/

It's been working good for me. The only keyboard I like better is the official Raspberry keyboard with a RPi4.

I should note that I am not a pro typist.

Re: Raspberry Pi 400 Thermal and Conductive Pads

I have a question on two of the components I noticed inside the Raspberry Pi 400 1. conductive pad - and the next thing I noticed (besides that massive heat sink) is a little conductive pad in the top left corner, bridging the Ethernet jack, the heat sink, and the keyboard: According to the Pi Engi...

It's too late for this case. But, learning how to use git [1] software control would allow the backing up of your programs.

Well, this is a far out idea; maybe the mouse has a short or something wrong with it. So, try booting without the mouse.

keep the USB-C (or microUSB) power cord plugged to the RPi....

switch power ON/OFF on the AC side of the power adapter...
using something like these:

I have "switched" to these and they work for me. Just wanted to say thanks.

The first programs I wrote was for the Touchscreen, using PySimpleGUI [1]. I also read a Python programming book. It took time, effort and patience but was well worth it.

Re: Power Fx

So, the language will be open. However, it will not be standalone. It will need to run in a Microsoft product?

If so, it is starting to make sense. No benefit to the Linux world.

Thanks for your input.

Power Fx

Microsoft is open sourcing the programming language Power FX. Not sure if it will run on a Raspberry, any time soon. But, do we need another language? Does it have a future? Maybe Microsoft is getting bored . . .

I have no idea, just asking.

Re: Installed Mesa 20.3. How to revert?

Sounds exciting. Maybe make a copy SD card and install it on that experimental SD card. Mesa 20.3.0 implements the OpenGL 4.6 API, but the version reported by glGetString(GL_VERSION) or glGetIntegerv(GL_MAJOR_VERSION) / glGetIntegerv(GL_MINOR_VERSION) depends on the particular driver being used. Maybe a 3rd party will produce a GPIO module that would have an audio output and maybe some other options for desktops. I think they do, Raspberry Pi's own IQaudio should do the trick , the compact Codec Zero may be useful as would the google voice hat's if they're still made. Though a USB headset ...

If the solder joints, on one side, are not cold, I would not worry about it.

I, personally, have found that Raspberry makes a quality consumer product at a fair price.
