Re: Imager is slow, like... hours.

if your using ubuntu you didn't need to install anything.
you just right click on the image you downloaded> open with image writer
it's already installed as part of disks.

Re: Raspberrypi Desktop

you should be able to re-select the theme & icons.

the moving to lxqt can't be helped in debian as that's the replacement for lxde.

you don't really have to upgrade if you don't want.

Re: Chrome crashes when opening YouTube

Hi guys ! Today I have encountered an odd issue on my fresh install of twisterOs. When I try opening the YouTube website Chromium (v92) exits all of a sudden. It initially opened up, tried signing in and that was it after that. I can open other Google sites and log into them. Any ideas what might b...

Re: What would be considered as a good / modest overclock speed?

i find 1800 to be a good balance since i run without fan & heatsinks. however i been trying something new, instead of overclocking, i'm simply running at full speed with the force_turbo=1, which has been giving a good response feel. also note, i'm not currently on raspberry os. i'm playing with...

Re: Has anyone compiled Firefox 94 ?

the problem is the raspberry gpu needs opengl for the accelerated graphics.
you can use opengl in firefox-esr and get the same performance as chromium.

the egl really doesn't matter if there's no gpu hardware acceleration. in the past we had a choice, now there's now way to disable and use opengl.

Re: Has anyone compiled Firefox 94 ?

94 sucks, your basically trapped in webrender software, so high cpu, high temps.

if you want to use a normal firefox you can grab it via snaps if your using the 64bit version of raspberry or using a different os where it's the default browser.

Hmmm. It seems some thread-editing was going on while I was composing my previous response. Specifically, the poster who asked me for a more detailed response seems to have deleted his request. in ubuntu you can use disks restore function to create. if you want a better option based on ubuntu and you don't mind using a beta os, i suggest trying pop!_os. https://fossbytes.com/install-pop-os-on-raspberry-pi-4-400/ https://download2333.mediafire.com/lxbr84u5txig/16wcy9pt891bk38/Pop%21_OS+21.1...

Re: Boots hot, gets hotter

also if your not using a fan, don't use heat sinks.
heat sinks are a thermal mass & take longer to cool without a fan.
i run my rpi4 4gb no case, no heat sink, no fan. my temps are just fine.
