Re: Receive data from uart! Raspberry Pi mono c#

A serial line in Linux is generally held by a tty (and applications like minicom can use it). If you want to use it by a different application, you must first stop and disable the systemd tty service that is using the corresponding tty. You also generally need to set the line in raw mode (stty -F /d...

Re: Start On Boot *and* Restart on Fail

The best is to set your app as a systemd service that you configure as to be restarted on failure.
In your service description file, in the [Service] section, put
Restart=always
RestartSec=3

Re: Serial port assistance

You can either:
- put your stty command in a udev rule for your device (preferrable as it will only run if your device is present)
- setup a systemd service to run this stty command at boot
- add this command to /etc/rc.local

Re: I need to hack a Pi4

If you want to get root access, just remove the hashed root password in /etc/shadow.
Then you can connect as root without a password.
You can then put any password you want using the command 'passwd'.

Where do you get the ip address from?
If it is from a dhcp server, it probably has this wrong dns settings that it propagates to the Pi.

You can have on the Pi an app with a websocket to send data to your web page, and javascript code in your web page to connect to the websocket and to display the data received.

Re: Disappointed with the pi zero 2 w

Are you talking about disabling the ACT led and PWR led and the HDMI port? Hint... Power banks are generally rated in mAh, milliampere-hours. "mhz" would actually be millihertz, but I was charitable and read it as megahertz, which would actually be MHz. Sorry to be a stickler for units, b...

To get the IP address in hex, you can use the command: ip -j address | jq -c -j .[1].addr_info[0].local | od -t x1 | head -1 | sed -e "s/0000000 //"

Re: Upgrading to Bullseye on RPi 2 kills ethernet

I got the same issue. I fixed it by two actions:
- replaced eth0 by enxb827eb967cb3 in /etc/dhcpcd.conf
- removed /etc/systemd/system/dhcpcd.service.d/wait.conf which causes dhcpcd to fail

Re: Obtaining IP address without hooking up to HDMI?

If you expect a Wifi connection with your Pi 02W, you must have previously configured the Wifi credentials for your wlan on the Pi 02W SD card.
Else your Pi 02W will not connect at all.

Re: Develop GUI app in C# on pi

In my job, I develop C# applications for Pi (3B+ and 4B) and Amd64. I use mono as the runtime (from https://www.mono-project.com/download/stable/#download-lin-raspbian as the RaspiOS version is a bit old). My IDE is MonoDevelop on a Debian Amd64 desktop. You probably can run it as well on a Pi 4, bu...

It is indeed 1152000 :D , but I am getting correct data...that's not a problem, the only concern is logging data. You still make that mistake. it is 115200. And setting a wrong value may not set the speed you expect. By the way, if you need to be fast, don't use Python. What shall I use? I need it ...

shouldn't it be: baudrate = 115200

I do all the programming and most of the testing on my AMD64 Linux desktop. Then I rsync, compile and finish the tests on the Pi.
That should also work on the Pi Zero 2 W I should receive by the end of the week.

Re: Can I back up/restore an image containing an OS multiple partitions to an SD card?

You can do it by having a different strategy: - make an archive for each partition which is not / or /boot, and put these archives on the root partition (this assumes that there is enough room on / for these) - then create a script that, on first boot, sets the / partition size to what you want, rec...

Re: What is my "crosscomplier"?

gcc is available on RaspiOS. I think it is installed by default. It has also the serie of compilers from the gcc family: g++, gnat, etc...

You can compile directly on RaspiOS for RaspiOS, no need to cross-compile.

Why do you need cross-compiling on the Pi?

Wireguard is an in kernel driver for kernel 5.10 (since 5.6 if I remind correctly). It is no longer a dkms one.
You can remove package wireguard-dkms.
