Re: Is there one application which can make Raspberry working?

I've just been using an ESP32 over the last couple of days, and getting the software setup has been a nightmare. This was on a WM running LUbuntu. I found it more difficult to get it working than the Pico although finally have it working. The software stack of the default setup has problems with wi...

Re: Is there one application which can make Raspberry working?

Ok jamesh. I will uninstall all not-required stuff. I also found another one-click installation script for Windows. I hope it will repair it all so I could compile examples and upload them into Pico. No need to uninstall unless you need the space. The extra stuff should not affect the development p...

Adding an antenna will void the wireless compliance certification, so this is not something we condone.

Re: Is there one application which can make Raspberry working?

After this painful "Getting started with Raspberry" experience I do not want it. I was hoping that the Pico would allow me to do what is a problem with the ESP32. But I am not able to upload even example projects into Pico. It's possible to set this up from scratch in about 25 minutes. Wh...

Re: The Raspbery Pi 4's Worst Feature

My worst physical irritation is having commonly used connections on two sides, it would be more convenient to have power, ethernet, one hdmi, audio and USBs on one side then the extra hdmi anywhere. As it stands it is a three sided board if you include the SD card socket which is also common usage....

Re: What does "CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:6 (project):" mean?

One possibility as pointed out by a forum user (Thanks!) is that MS/VScode has changed something somewhere which has broken our Windows instructions. Assuming of course you are using our instructions! https://datasheets.raspberrypi.com/pico/getting-started-with-pico.pdf I'll need to go through them ...

I suspect its technically possible (almost everyone here is technical). As to the commercial side, this may not be the best place to ask!

Hi Raspberry, I give up ! 2 days trying to compile samples but still blocked because of the nmake issue on windows. one step forward 2 steps back. Support is very poor. I'm afraid of going crazy. I will sell my board. What a pity. This is your first post, so you have not yet asked for support.... W...

The Pi 4 is capable of producing analogue signals for the mini HDMI connection.
No, there is no analogue output on the HDMI connector. You will need an active convertor.

Re: Very confusing pin name definitions

Best to just assume that numbers always refer to GPIO numbers unless otherwise stated. Physical board pin numbers vary between boards of different makes, so would be an unreliable metric.

I doubt we would change names at this point, too much stuff already using the current definitions.

Buy one, find out.

Could you also possibly look into what is happening at RS in the UK. They've got loads of the Pico, but none of the Pico W. This might explain it: "Our licence agreement with RS Group came to an end in June 2022, with the result that they no longer manufacture Raspberry Pi products." Mayb...
