Re: Pi 3B+ SOLD OUT Worldwide

Authorised sellers aren't charging because the aren't selling. We can't use the Pi 4B because the newer hardware versions do not work with Victron's Venus OS. After checking the hardware support page for Venus OS https://github.com/victronenergy/venus/wiki/machines I wonder what the obstacle is to ...

Re: Raspberry pi 4, 4Gb USB ports stop working after a while

sudo apt update sudo apt full-upgrade will make sure you are fully up to date. Odd that the total mem thing fixed things - that implies that the bounce buffers for the USB are not working (IIRC we use bounce buffers to reach the top of memory due to a HW issue on the SoC - fixed in later versions) b...

Re: Pi 3B+ SOLD OUT Worldwide

The Pi 3B+ seems to be sold out worldwide with ETA only in Q4 2022 with some suppliers eg. Farnell indicating a date in 2023. What's cricket? Others, eg. WaveShare and Amazon ripping the ring out of it and selling what they have left for 90USD ea. There is a worldwide chip supply problem, and this ...

That's usually bad connection on the HDMI lead, but can have a software cause I guess.

Make sure you are up to date with all your software.

Great you have got going and are pleased so far. I would always recommend the official docs as a first point of call for information, we do try to keep it updated, although there can be lags on major software releases as we try to catch up!

Re: Questions on the capability of the PIO on the PICO

As i was reading things about it a line stood out thats goes something like "it can emulate any pheripheral including not yet invented". This peaked my interest. This is the first of me hearing this feature on any mCu i have used, so please help my ignorance. As what i understand a PIO is...

Ok, good to know, good luck! Maybe the pies are sitting in a shipping container at the dock. In the States there is a shortage of truck drivers, so the plan is to fire the ones who remain for not getting vaccinated. According to Fido there's no reason not to as there really are some things so bad t...

That sounds like the SD card is about to fail, so has reverted to RO mode. Get a new SD card, copy your data across from the old one.

There is example c code in pico examples on github for this sensor. Might be worth trying it out, as its known working code.

So are all raspberries finally sold out globally now?

Anything in production?
Of course, what an odd question! We've not stopped making anything, and our production rates are as high as they have ever been. We are making them as fast as suppliers can get us parts. Demand is very very high.

If you have another SD card, create a new installation on it, and see if that will update. That will show if it was the changes to your router.

Re: So... How's Vulkan coming along?

This is not being done in house, so work in house doesn't affect Vulkan development. However, work on KMS might, and we are doing quite bit on that.

I'll ask around to see what the current status is.

EDIT: It's progressing nicely apparently, but nothing to report at the moment.

Yes, booting from SD then using a USB attached storage device is a very common use case. It's also faster if you have a decent device attached by USB3.

The RAM appears the same to both cores, so a variable can be accessed from either. However, make sure you "protect" it from simultaneous access, as that could cause values to be erratic - standard multicore programming technique - use a mutex or similar. I am honored that an engineer took...

Hi,

my GPU Memory is currently on 256. Is that ok? What size would you recommand?

Thanks
I'd remove the setting of it completely and it will use the default. Why did you set it?
