Re: Price increase by +50%?

Malaysia. Please look at the price for RP4B 2GB model. We have had to increase the price of that specific model, which I think explains the difference. All explained in Eben's latest blog post. https://www.raspberrypi.com/news/supply-chain-shortages-and-our-first-ever-price-increase/ I'm aware of t...

Re: Can I delete my old posts

The problem with removing old posts is that other posts that rely on them for context are then left sourceless, which often makes entire threads useless, so we prefer people leave things in place.

In my country, even the local official seller do not sell at the supposed price per Raspberry Pi website. Generally at around 20% premium. The $35 price is excluding any local taxes. Re: 3.3V versus 5V Power

The GPIO's are NOT 5v tolerant. So you should power devices from 3.3 if that is an option, or use level shifters if the device needs 5v.

You don't have to. Start with C if you want, then move on to C+. Or Python. Or whatever you want.

Re: A wifi antenna connector is an absolute must

The next Raspberry Pi (5 or whatever it will be called) should definately have a connector to attach a wifi antenna. The wifi connection on my raspberry pi has so much variance, it is crazy. As i have stated in another post, a very cheap windows netbook can somehow pull a very clean and fast wifi s...

Re: No clue what just happened

I suspect the SD card is about to fail.

Get another one and install the latest Pi OS on it, using a USB->SD adapter you should then be able to get the files off the old SD card.

Re: Gaming Seat From a Tesla

First, get the seat working from the standard switch block - presumably it just needs power (quite a lot of power I suspect). Once you have it moving around, then you can look to replacing the switch block with something controllable from a Pi.

Anyone know where I can find a place to sell me more than One, Pi4 8gb, only one per customer where I got the last one, and at 20 GBP to ship just one, that adds up, am in Ireland. Odd, we put no order limits on the 8GB Pi, I guess that's just the reseller trying to spread his allocation around as ...

I suspect that this is a voltage mismatch. The Pi needs the uart running at 3.3v, and may devices run at 5v. The symptom is often garbage characters.

Running from 5V? RPI GPIO are 3.3V Which overlay did you load to enable your I/O expanders? Connecting electronics when they are powered? Very bad idea! Sounds like you've led the 'magic white smoke' out --> something (maybe your Pi) has died. Always power down electronice before making any connect...
