Raspberry Pi 4B: Need Recommendations for a Second Wireless Card

Hi everyone, I am using my Raspberry Pi 4B to create a wireless network. However, when I switch the built-in wireless card to monitor mode for network analysis, it ceases to function as a network provider. I am considering getting a second wireless card to maintain network functionality while also b...

Re: Setting up Kali as a Router/Wireless Access Point

People with specific interest in your chosen 3rd-party OS are more likely to be found at https://forums.kali.org/ Thanks, I was able to figure it out. It was due to my ip tables rules not persisting across sessions. My device had internet access after I ran these commands: sudo iptables -t nat -A P...

Setting up Kali as a Router/Wireless Access Point

I installed hostapd and dnsmasq on my Raspberry Pi - Kali OS. I set up the configuration files and iptables rules, but I do not have internet access, even though I am connected to the WAP.

Re: How do I flash VyOS/a custom OS on my raspberry pi?

Thanks for the information everyone. Do you think it would work if I flashed Ubuntu on my raspberry pi, downloaded Virtualbox on Ubuntu, and ran VyOS as a VM on Virtualbox? Or is there another way to achieve my goal (to use my raspberry pi as a router and DHCP server)? your thinking like a pc, rpi'...

Re: How do I flash VyOS/a custom OS on my raspberry pi?

Do you think it would work if I flashed Ubuntu on my raspberry pi, downloaded Virtualbox on Ubuntu, and ran VyOS as a VM on Virtualbox? No. Virtualbox is x86-64 only and a VM wouldn't help with the mismatched architectures. QEMU would do it but you'd incur a significant performance penalty for havi...

Re: Raspberry Pi Compatibility Issues / Won't Power On

It works with the microsd card. So apparently there is a compatibility issue with my SSD drive, or the SATA adapter. Can anyone recommend an SSD drive and adapter that is verified to work with the raspberry pi 4 model b? This is the adapter from Amazon that I have been using. It comes with an power...

How do I flash VyOS/a custom OS on my raspberry pi?

I am trying to use my flash VyOS to an SD card, so I can use my raspberry pi model 4-b as a router and DHCP server. I used the raspberry pi imager utility and got the error "Partition does not have a FAT file system". Additionally, the drive in "This PC", showed a red bar (4 KB f...

Re: Raspberry Pi Compatibility Issues / Won't Power On

Thank you, using a micro SD card was also the next step I was going to take to troubleshoot it. I'll also order an official power supply.

Re: Raspberry Pi Compatibility Issues / Won't Boot

I meant it won't boot, I think it is powering on because the red turns on when plugged in. Thanks for the suggestions. I used a 2.5" SATA Hard Drive/SSD to USB 3.0 Adapter to connect the SSD drive to the USB port on my Raspberry Pi. Then I used a Insignia 8’ Micro HDMI Cable to HDMI adapter to ...
