Re: accessing raspberry pi from outside network issue.

Right.
Besides hosting a website, I wanted to setup a file sharing as well.
The network where public available is not high speed, where as the other one is 200Mbps.
May be I should just pay extra and get public ip for high speed connection.

...And its doable only if I gain access to ISP Device? Yes. What you have there is not "internet", but "assisted living" to reach some http/https pages in the interwebs... Make sense. I spoke to my ISP. They said, if I pay few bucks (close to 3$) extra, they can set static WAN i...

Re: accessing router management page from outside issue.

I forgot to mention that "ISP device" is not dedicated for me. There are ethernet cables running from that to other apartments in my complex. And the device is owned by ISP. So I don't think I can make any changes in that device. You mentioned about port forwarding, can you be little speci...

Re: accessing router management page from outside issue.

@pi-anazazi I should have explained full. It is really not my intention to expose my router configuration page to public internet. I just wanted to convey that, with public ip, it is not reaching to my home network. The intention is to host a website using raspberry pi I already have a DUC client (n...

Re: Power rpi 4 using 18650 question

Depanding on the load on the Rpi 4, it could maybe not last that long. You can measure how much current the Rpi 4 needs in you application, or your test it how long it wil last. I will place the two batttery in series and use a buck converter that is set to 5V to power the Rpi. Often it is easier g...

How long do you want it to run on the battery?
May be 1 or 2 hours and then I will charge the batteries.
I will monitor the battery voltage and make sure never drop 3v.

Power rpi 4 using 18650 question

Hello, I am getting a rpi 4 4gb version. I have several good quality 3000mah 18650 cells lying around which can discharge up to 10A easily. Should I be using 1 cell and boost the voltage to 5v? Or use 2 cells and step down to 5v? What is the best way to achieve either of the method? Any ready made r...

Re: https on apache2. https does not work out side home netw

Usually, different rules apply to LAN vs. WAN due to the security implications - especially when we are talking SSL/TLS. Is the certificate authorized by a CA? If not, this may be the problem. Is the common name (host / IP) in the certificate valid for the domain "raspiabita.ddns.net"? If...

Well, when you test inside the home, are you on the same machine as the server? It sounds like you haven't put the cert on the client you are using when you are outside of the home. When I tested inside home, I tested from a windows 10 Dekstop and it works. The same desktop i have the ability to sw...

[SOLVED] Re: custom rc script not being called while shutdow

stop singal will get initiated only if there is a file in /var/lock/subsys/<rcscriptname>
So i put a touch stalemate as part of start section.

Code: Select all

start() {
/apps/splunk/bin/splunk start
touch /var/lock/subsys/rcsplunk
}
and everything worked as expected.
