Re: YouTube videos in Chromium sound like a cracked speaker

Sound works well using AV jack now in Chromium Version 92.0.4515.98 (Official Build) Built on Raspbian , running on Raspbian 10 (32-bit).

Videos are smoother in Chromium than in Vivaldi. The only disadvantage with Chromium is that the ad blocker works better on YouTube in Vivaldi.

Re: Is it possible to simulate removal & insertion of an ethernet plug?

Thanks! That works well. I now use this when the network via powerline goes down:
sudo mii-tool -r eth0
and then ping the router to see when the network is up again:
ping 192.168.1.1

Is it possible to simulate removal & insertion of an ethernet plug?

I have wired network (ethernet) from the Raspberry Pi 4 B 8 GB via powerline to the router and don't use WiFi, but sometimes it stops working, and the only thing that helps is to remove the plug in the Raspberry Pi end and to insert it again, and then the network always starts to work again. Is it p...

Re: Share your neofetch!

It's called powerline. I installed using sudo apt install powerline in Raspberry Pi OS Buster, and then I had to add this to the end of ~/.bashrc # load powerline if [ -f `which powerline-daemon` ]; then powerline-daemon -q POWERLINE_BASH_CONTINUATION=1 POWERLINE_BASH_SELECT=1 fi if [ -f /usr/share/...

This has been happening ever since the update to Chromium v88/v89, the old v86 worked fine.
Thanks for the confirmation that I'm not the only one with this problem. Do you get sound via AV Jack or HDMI?

Re: YouTube videos in Chromium sound like a cracked speaker

I don't have a female HDMI sound input - my screens are DVI-D with HDMI to DVI-D adapters. (I have two screens.) I have an HDMI to VGA adapter with 3.5 mm stereo out, but I can't use that since it has male HDMI and I have no male microHDMI to female HDMI adapter. I could of course go out and buy an ...

Solved: YouTube videos in Chromium sound like a cracked speaker

Playing YouTube videos in Chromium sound like a cracked speaker, but sound good in Vivaldi browser on exactly the same system. I use the most full-upgraded Raspberry Pi OS Buster on Raspberry Pi 4 B 8GB and AV Jack and 256 MB GPU Memory. This cracked sound becomes less if I lower the video quality, ...

Re: A full 64-bit Raspberry Pi Desktop for PC wanted

I have two Eee PC 900 (2GB) and 1001HA (1GB) netbooks with only 32-bit i686 CPUs so I would want keep the possibility to run Raspberry Pi OS on them. AFAIK you have a 64-bit kernel if your CPU allows it and you can probably install amd64 apps e.g. "code:amd64". Maybe one could have a dual ...

Hi, I am working on a project which has an Embedded controller supporting RNDIS Slave function. I am planning to use Raspberry Pi as RNDIS Host instead of a Windows PC which consumes a lot of power and generates noise. I need your help to configure a Raspberry pi as RNDIS Host. I have good experiences with FLIRC case for Raspberry Pi 4B. I have another Pi 4B with a heat-sink case, but I believe that also heats up the USB ports more and a USB stick drive was destroyed. I then mounted the next USB stick on a short USB cable and that runs stable for months. A disadvantage wit...

IMHO this approach would have been better: instructions to install Microsoft key + repo. Alternatively there could be a package to install Microsoft key + repo. This would have the added benefit of being easy to uninstall/purge. Now you have to edit files. The checking of extra repositories slow dow...
