Re: Soldering a pin connector and making diy rom cartridges

There are hundreds of different types of ROM cartridges, all with different pin-outs and voltage requirements. Is there one you want to support? pidd's USB stick suggestion's a decent one: they're way better than any ROM cartridge that ever was, and they're already supported. SD cards (but not the ...

Soldering a pin connector and making diy rom cartridges

Hello. I would like to solder a pin connector and use that with a Raspberry Pi Zero or Zero W. My goal is to have a OS such as Raspberry Pi OS Lite check to see if a cartridge is inserted at boot-up, and read ROM data off the cartridge if it is inserted properly. If the rom chip has software on it, ...

Pico 8 Fanmade Handheld Using a Pi Zero W

Hello Raspberry Pi community. I made my own Pico 8 fanmade handheld. This project was to teach myself soldering. The screen I used is a Waveshare 1.5 inch OLED RGB display module with a screen resolution of 128x128, the same exact resolution as Pico 8. What I also did was use a mono speaker for soun...

Re: What do you use your RPI4 for?

I'm currently using my Raspberry PI 4 8GB model as a desktop. I plan on using it as a voice assistant and to 3d print with Cura. Cura apparently works with a 3d party package manager.

Re: [DEV] LineageOS 17.1 (Android 10) for Raspberry Pi 4 B

Has anyone tried Konsta's Android 10 build with the Vilros 8 inch Raspberry PI screen/case? I cannot seem to load the OS as the screen keeps resetting every second, but it only happens in Android 10, not Raspbian. However, I'm able to boot just fine on a flat screen TV. I wonder if its because the V...

Awesome work. I noticed that DRM content on Youtube doesn't seem to work when I installed Android TV 10, but I haven't tried other drm content yet. Overall, this is cool.

Setting up a Raspberry PI 3 model B with a NTSC CRT TV

Hello, I would like to set up my Raspberry PI with a NTSC CRT TV. Question: I have a HDMI to composite adapter and wonder how do I set up config.txt so the pi would use the TV's resolution? The resolution seems to be defaulting to 1920x1080 and on the crt the text looks small since it is too large o...

This is great news. The Raspberry PI is a very inexpensive computer and this would be great for Amiga users. A next generation Amiga for everyone.

You might want to check one of the Amiga forums or AROS-exec. I heard there is a dev that is working on it and has a patreon page.

Re: RISC OS now under the Apache 2.0 Licence

But I must say I'm impressed. Quick booting, very responsive on a 3B, I can read my web pages served by other PC's and access t'internet. I quite like the GUI. If I can figure out how to do what I want, and if it can do it, you might have won a convert. It is great for retro gaming. That is what I ...

Re: RISC OS now under the Apache 2.0 Licence

Question : Does RISCOS still require a three-button mouse ? Everything I've found with a quick surf around to get up to speed suggests it does. Are such mice even available these day with USB interfaces ? Is it even worth going to the effort of installing it of one hasn't such a mouse ? You can use...

Help installing !zeropain.

I was having issues with installing RISC OS on my Raspberry Pi 3, but by following instructions in another thread, I was able to install it, however, when I load certain applications, such as Netsurf, I have to press alt + break and close them as they wont load. One of the instructions was: Open !Bo...

The emulator booted up, but I was unable to get my USB keyboard (Keytronic) to work. I had to plug and replug my keyboard each time I wa...

Re: Apple eMac + Raspberry PI = Apple PI?

I'm going to scrap the project. I'm going to turn my 1280x1024 CTL LCD monitor into a all in one PC instead. It will be much easier to work with and will be much smaller. My idea (for now) is to make a Altoids case and mount it on the back until I could house the PI inside the monitor.

Re: Apple eMac + Raspberry PI = Apple PI?

The CRT part worries me a little, but I could always find a professional who could help me discharge the CRT monitor and disassemble it. I tried disassembling my eMac 700 before when I wanted to replace the broken disk drive, but I found out that I had to remove things that were near the CRT monitor...

All-in-One PI Powered PC

Greetings, I have a Apple eMac 700 that I want to gut out and use as a all in one PC with my Raspberry PI. Questions: Could I use the CRT monitor, disk drive; speakers and I/O Ports (from the eMac) with the Raspberry PI, or would I be better off using different hardware (LCD Monitor, speakers; USB H...

Re: What is the best internet browser experience ?

!Netsurf on RISC OS works well (Tested on the 256MB Model B Raspberry PI). Browsing might not be 100% smooth (some pages it is), but its much faster than what I was experiencing on Raspbian. It doesn't bog down the system so you can still run other applications. Loading images is another story. If y...

Re: Dosbox. What have you got running.

On !fastdosbox (RISC OS), I was able to run Commander Keen 1, Duke 1, and God of Thunder with out any major problems, but games like Commander Keen 4 had too many issues (unplayable ones). I might give the GNU/Linux port (Raspbian) a try.

I run AROS natively (sometimes) on my Desktop PC. Hopefully, I'll be able to do the same (natively, not Linux hosted) on my PI. This port should really boost interest in the AROS project. Good job.
