What about using Android with Google Cardboard on the Pi?
I've been thinking about trying this myself.

Re: Files Missing To Quake 3 On RetroPie

Are you using the files from the Q3A Demo or the Full Version ?

If the demo, are you using pak1-pak8? These are missing some files as the patches are expecting the full version.

Re: How to run Freespace 2 Open on Raspberry PI 3

Very Nice!

You might want to change the

Code: Select all

make
command to

Code: Select all

make -j4
and the code will compile a whole lot faster.

Re: Anyone used RPi3 for Virtual Pinball Cabinet?

I'm only getting around 5 frames a second more on the Pi 3. It's running around 104% CPU (just over 1 core CPU usage) & 5% memory. I tried upping the memory split to 128MB, but no difference in the FPS.

Re: Anyone used RPi3 for Virtual Pinball Cabinet?

I've created a fork of Emilia Pinball on GitHub. https://github.com/kwadroke/pinball It supports a Tall screen (a rotated Wide Screen). Right now I have a hack in there to give better zoom for the X-axis. I'll be adding a zoom based off the aspect ratio after I get through with a Convention this wee...

I'm sure you've come across this http://freegamer.blogspot.com/2015/11/top-3-open-source-pinball-games.html Nothing RPi exclusive, just Linux in General. You'll end up having to run Windows for the Pinball "emulators". There's been some people who use Raspberry Pi for handling elecrtro-mec...

Re: Anyone used RPi3 for Virtual Pinball Cabinet?

I'm actually in the process of building a small Virtual Pinball Machine myself. Hope to have it working for a convention this coming weekend. The biggest problem is the Software. There's only a couple of games that work on the Pi. I've been digging into this over the last few weeks without alot of s...

Re: NEW: Darkplaces Quake engine up and running on Raspberry

I just tried running Xonotic on the Pi using the "Lower quality download". I too had the mouse pointer stuck, but, I haven't had much luck with the Quake I demo and the mouse (keeps showing "Unknown Command libudev" after a few seconds). I increased the swap file to 512mb, and ad...

Re: rpi shooters requiring MESA

zzediker, I think you posted to my website, OpenArcade.org, so I'll post what I replied there. This is due to the Pi requiring OpenGL ES instead of regular OpenGL. There is a GL Shim , but I haven’t gotten around to playing with it. OpenPandora also uses OpenGL ES and I think some of the games have ...

Re: PainTown for RPi?

I've compiled Paintown a while back thanks to the developers, but, it's been a while. There are some Allegro 5 options you can pass to help with GPU performance. It was still a bit slow last time I tried. I haven't had much luck with the Mugen part, but, I haven't tried too hard either. The develope...

Re: Daphne Emulator Project - Cross-Compiler Required

I modified the sources and compiled it on the Pi to get it to run. If I remember right, I just have it using SDL.
It's been a while since I messed with it. Will have to see how I have it configured.
