Re: 3D Printed Pico Arcade machines

Have you blogged this? I'd vote for this to be prime material to be featured on the Pi blog / PiMag! No, not yet - I'm making final amends with both the case and the software. Also finishing off a video tutorial on how to make it step-by-step. However, I would be keen to do a blog on it. I'm also c...

Re: Understanding PWM audio

It is pretty trivial to play 8 bit PWM sound via DMAing to a PWM slice and pacing the DMA with a timer (you really don't even need to use the second core). I am in the process (at a low-ish priority) of reworking the pico_audio stuff from pico-extras, into a slightly simpler/better pico_audio_out s...

Awesome work - love the miniature break out!
Thanks Nick! - just got PWM sound working on it as well using a PAM8302A and little speaker (really loud output)

Here's an open-end view ...

Re: Understanding PWM audio

Hi - I'm currently writing a few games on the Pico and would like to use PWM sound ... is it possible to use the 2nd processor to play sound while the 1st processor renders the game itself? How tricky would this be to program in C++ or has someone done it already?

Thanks for any help.

Thank you HermannSW! I will see what I can do but this is based on the WiringPi lib that I am not sure will compile inside of the Pico as it is a microcontroller with limited memory.
Did you get the driver working for the Pico?

Re: Hack to add 18650 li-ion charging board to RPi Zero

In my case big gap between 'recommended' and 'practice'. Even with couple drives attached my Pi4s usually draw milliamps not amps. Cheapo chinese chargers and converters actually tested for capability ( https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=273174&p=1655745#p1655745 ) and very few ...

Nice. Do those 4,3,2,1 leds shine all the time or can they be turned off while keeping power on? does it cut off battery power when battery is empty?
They turn off after a few seconds. Not sure about battery cut-off when empty??

Case looks good. I'm not sure about using PLA for it though. The glass transition temperature of PLA is well within the normal operating temperature range of a Pi 4. Good point ... the Pi board is approx. 1.5mm from bottom of the case resting on edge supports and has a vent underneath. Continuous c...

Re: New 3D printed Pi4 case designs for overclocking

That one fault is the part above the red piece, it is a bit thin and with too much pressure with the red piece, it could break and then the grille could be loose and need to be fixed. The red piece is pretty tough (5mm thick) ... you only see a thin rim once it's pushed into the back of the case. I...

Re: How can you make a custom raspberry pi car chassis?

You can create a chassis the good old fashioned way by cutting ply and fixing parts to it. However, taking the 3D printer route would require you to model it in 3D using something like Blender (Blender.org). I wouldn't recommend sending your design to a print service (unless money is no object) and ...
