Anything in production?

Re: Locked topic I need to edit or delete

Ok, so I reported my own thread with asking for it to be unlocked.

It seems to me people have to little to do so they add administration to occupy themselves for job security?

Re: Try new vc6 drivers

@6by9 If you convert them up front it will not take CPU every frame. I can not mention any other platforms than windows because you remove posts with the other platform I support. You can look at the deleted posts list I guess. @jamesh You mean the founders of raspberry had no input in designing the...

Re: Try new vc6 drivers

V3D is not my area of expertise, but I'd hazard a guess that half floats aren't supported in the hardware, therefore there's a CPU conversion required before submitting the job to the hardware. Ouch, half float is the ONLY thing the GPU should support in hardware. How could you miss that? You shoul...

Re: Try new vc6 drivers

Just to correct terminology that is being thrown around. The VideoCore 6 V3D block is driven by the v3d driver ( mesa and kernel ), not vc4, vc6, or any other dreamt up module name. The vc4 kernel driver is still used for putting images on display devices. Well its the vc4-dri.so file that is the p...

The release works on all platforms; windows, raspberry and another device I cannot mention on this forum because they remove my posts. http://move.rupy.se/file/park_boiler_plate.zip I use Collada and I would switch to the Raspberry 4 for main desktop, unfortunately the drivers are not good enough ye...

You can try my 3D MMO engine: http://talk.binarytask.com/task?id=5959519327505901449

Run it with ./play.sh and press + and space for more characters and sound.

Half Float Performance

So I managed to implement half float for my 3D MMO engine, but the performance is terrible (3x worse than floats!!!), it seems the vc4-dri.so driver is not optimised for it and it's taking too much CPU rendering assets with half float. How can I report this bug to the developers of the driver? Edit:...

Is there some way to test the official releases of vc4-dri.so?

Re: OpenAL Error

@righthalfplane It still crashes randomly. @cleverca22 I think this is the foundations responsibility, I cannot be asked to work around their drivers, to be clear it's the vc4.so driver that crashes! I'm done trying to do others work, my game works and raspiOS stuff crashes on exit, eventually they ...

I resurrected the thread because your drivers still tear just like the film this guy posted (close to the top).

Though after some time the tearing stopped!?

Re: OpenAL Error

So now I discovered I have this segfault on exiting the game, and it's always pulse or vc4 crashing: - pulse crashes sometimes (very rarely) if I don't play any audio. Edit: this only happens if I try to cleanup things before I exit the process, so the solution is to just hard exit... :D - vc4 alway...

Does anyone know how many OpenAL sources the raspberry 4 can handle? Edit: apparently you can just run this code: ALCint size; alcGetIntegerv( device, ALC_ATTRIBUTES_SIZE, 1, &size); std::vector<ALCint> attrs(size); alcGetIntegerv( device, ALC_ALL_ATTRIBUTES, size, &attrs[0] ); for(size_t i=...
