Re: Pi Zero W2 and Bullseye: *** no cameras available ***

....six days later: still no news.... that's more than sad. Would be better to withdraw Bullseye until major bugs fixed IMHO. For now the number of annoyed users asking same questions over and over again is growing day by day. BR Rals When it's fixed, it will be announced. It's not been forgotten, ...

Re: The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W Thread

I just got my first zero 2. I was able to move an SD card from a zero 1. It booted just fine. I was surprised. Usually, we need to get some updated raspi OS before we can use a new pi.

Re: The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W Thread

WWWWAAAAA!

I have been waiting for Nov 2 (today) when Microcenter starts selling them. I saw they were opened at 10 am. As soon as I drove there, a mob of geeks had already sucked them dry. They were sold out!

Re: Wikipedia 2026 discontinue statement

Thank you for gracefully answering.

It seems to suggest that something huge was going to happen in 2026 if they're discontinuing all the pis.

Wikipedia 2026 discontinue statement

I noticed Wikipedia has a table of pis. There's a column marked 'discontinued'. All the pis are marked discontinued on 2026.

PICO plugged into rpi4 shows up as 128MB drive

I plugged the PICO into my rpi4 and it shows up as a 128MB drive on /dev/sda.
From what I understand, the pico has 2MB of 'mass' storage and just a few kilobytes of RAM.

7 inch touchscreen coma

The official 7 inch touchscreen will turn off (screen saver/energy save) after after a few minutes. Touch it and it will come on again. How to get it not turn on again: Wait for it to go to power-save. The screen goes off. SSH to the machine. Do a reboot. When the rpi shuts down and restarts, the di...

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero Portable

I use two lithium cells ( really fat AA battery ) so that I can swap them when the voltage is low. This way it is powered by battery continuously. I swap one of the two cells at a time. See? It is never off. This is really dangerous and not recommended. You could cause a fire or explosion. never pa...

Re: run a bash script without ". /"?

To answer the original question: To run a script in current folder: copy and paste this: PATH=$PATH":." Now you can run any program in your current path where ever you go. In practice, this is not done. I have only seen this in schools where they are trying to get people who are using DOS ...

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero Portable

Looks like everything that needs to be said was said. You probably already got your answer, but I'd like to jump in. Your OP of running a pi0 on a 5Ah pack is very practical. In fact that's exactly what I do. I keep a rpi0w in my pocket. It is powered by a power pack that I rolled myself. I don't li...

Re: Portable battery options for IOT device + Raspberry PI??

You could either use an off the shelf USB battery pack or....you could build your own. I build my own. I use 18650 lithium ion cells. There are many holders for them. Look them up on ebay or amazon. These 'really fat AA' cells are great in terms of shelf life and capacity. And there are plenty of ch...

my pi B rev 2 512M RAM still kicking

I have several dozen pis. I just discovered an old pi that I installed in 2013 that is still kicking! It is an old pi B rev 2 512M RAM. I just forgot about it. Its uptime is four years. It was last rebooted 2016. I only reboot, rarely a complete shutdown. Inside looks like an old MicroCenter brand S...
