Re: raspberry pi ubuntu server set up issue

I am getting the same error. I installed the may 2024 version of rasp os lite on a rpi4. It has no monitor, only ssh access. <---installed on mar 2024. I got the error starting after an 'apt update' on mar 21. The update was done at 1 am. The error happened soon after: Mar 21 02:05:51 raspberrypi ke...

Re: How does Pi5 determine Power Supply capacity

At bootup if it needs too. Then check dmesg for any undervoltage Also use vcgencmd get_throttled to check that. https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/computers/os.html#get_throttled and vcgencmd pmic_read_adc for the EXT5V_V voltage. Re: Xrandr on Pi 5 - Turn on off video output on schedule

I would like to add a note here. I am using the 7 inch display and of course the default resolution is 800x480. When I tried to change the network settings, I found that the [ok] button is below the screen. In the old days, you could hold [alt] and click and move the app window and thus expose the [...

Re: Pi 5 on Amazon ?? (Approved Resellers)

Why are people struggling with amazon?

I got one from micro center, digikey and mouser. They all follow the $80USD guidelines. Each only allows one per.
no price gouging.

Re: My Rpi400 is defective

One thing interesting is that when I got my pi 400, it did appear as if the [fn]+power button did not work. But after some time, it seems to have been a software issue. So, it simply took many minutes to time out and then it did shut down and drew only 33mA.
It was waiting for SMB mounts.

I feel ya bro. All my 30+ pis came broken. They all start with that British keyboard when they know that I'm in the United States. Terrible. Re: Issue with the supply of Raspberry Pi 3 B Model worldwide

It's pretty much all Pi models, not Pi 3 Model B only. Visit https://rpilocator.com/ regularly to check if something pops up relatively local to you. Bare in mind that some seller have a limit 1 item per order, so 15 from Digikey is actually not bad ;) Holy krap, nobody has pis of any kind? I just ...

Holy crap it still does work!

I took a /etc/shadow password from a debian 9.13 on a x86 intel PC and pasted it to the /etc/shadow of my rpi 4b!

Re: What hash does raspberry uses for password

I don't think you can reverse the /etc/shadow hash back into a password. In the past, I've been able to remove the password in /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow so that I can log in when the password was not known. I don't know if that still works. In the record, there is group of text that looks like gib...

Re: UPS HAT V3

Why must you insist on maximising the rated 3A? I wouldn't do it if I had that device.
What are you running that you must have 3A?

For example, I have a rpi4b + rpi 7 inch touch screen. The device runs off of one lithium ion battery and it draws way less than 2A at the USB.

Strange, your command worked fine when I sshed into a remote pi that is running text console only.

vlc -vvv https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ulbNpIAUrgM

But I guess that does not help you at all.

Re: play video with vlc without starting a gui

I have a pi running without a gui, text console only.

I am able ssh in from another computer and to stream videos like this:
vlc http://10.0.2.23:3001

I'm also able to remotely ssh in and place a video like this:
vlc somevideo.mp4

All I did was:
apt-get install vlc

Re: Battery suggestions - current Anker is underpowering RPI

I have to second that on the guy who said to check the USB C cable. I usually like short cables, but one time, I used a short USBC cable that caused the dreaded lightning bolt to occasionally flash. I switched it out for a 10 foot cable ( 3 metres/meters, sorry, dumb American here. ) and it worked f...

I like this one better: https://www.amazon.com/Geekworm-Raspberry-Management-Detection-Shutdown/dp/B087FXLZZH?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1 Because, you can just swap out the two batteries one at a time and just keep going. You would never need to shut down the pi. The only problem here is that there is ...

That cannot be found because you spelled something wrong. According to the specs page, which you should have provided us but decided not to be bothered, the max output is 3A. Usually, that's not achievable or at least not a safe idea. If you were able to extract 3A, the current at the battery would ...

What is test point AB?

I googled but I can't find it anywhere.
On the bottom of the rpi zero 2 there is a test point marked AB. What is that for?

I'm trying to connect composite. There is a point marked TV and I am guessing the shield should go to GND. Nothing works.
