Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Sorry to ask a question again so soon. The relay and door are working fine. But. The relay appears to be on all the time. (except on first power up when it's in a floating state) When triggered from the app, it goes off and then back on. This pulse is fine for operating the door, but I have an addi...

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

My question has already been asked in the past, but I am unable to find the answer. So please excuse me for asking again. I have just set up 'pirelaypro' to work with my google home and IFTTT. I am using the commands http://your-pi-ip-address/gpio.php?pin=1&status=1 and http://yourpi-ip-address...

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Hello, I have purchased your Pro application. So far I got it working on PC browser on the same network, but not from my phone (from the IP). Should be there some more instruction on your webpage? https://sites.google.com/a/jasonfindlay.com/pi-relay/ To me it looks like its just end with pictures a...

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

P.S. Watchitexplode - You need to name the php file gpio.php and not gpio.php.save it should work for you then assuming you have added the contents to the file correctly and installed the required components. Thank you for the response! I thought that might be the problem, but couldn't figure out h...

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Hi All Sorry I've been quiet for so long, lots of changes in my life over the past couple of years meant that I haven't had time to work on developing this for a while. I wont have time to answer everyone's questions but will try to drop in from time to time help where I can. At this point in time I...

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

I think you have understood correctly. But keep in mind that the Pi will also be using the power from the usb cable to power up the Pi itself. So it has more to do with the supply to the Pi really via your 5v usb power supply and the cable. If you are using a 1A power supply, just keep in mind that ...

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Hello, The 5v pin as I understand it passes straight through from the usb power supply, that's what I use. If you have a 3.3v relay board and want to power it from the Pi you should make sure it does not exceed 50mA as i am lead to believe that is its limitation, in reality I would stay well away fr...

For those interested in an iOS version of the app, i've started developing it in Xcode, and i've got it switching on my iPhone 6 running ios9. Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Did your Pi Boot up with the new SD Image? is it connected to your network? and is the phone connected to your wifi? If so, try restarting your phone to clear any DNS caching in case its picked up an old IP address. if its still not working open your web browser on your phone and go to http://raspbe...

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Ok, sounds like there definitely needs to be a new disk image to cater for the pi2. I have been testing using a new image of Raspian Jessie this morning, and I followed my instructions. It seems that in the latest version of Apache the location has moved where the gpio.php file needs to go. Realitym...

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Hi BuffKnysna, Yes you can do with with the app 'as is'. What you would need to do is change the PHP code in your GPIO.php file to use an IF statement in your PHP script, that executes the Wiring Pi command to control those pins when something like IF $_GET['pin'] = 1 then command X e.g. $output = s...

Great call about using a webpage to change/start/stop a radio station. It's got me thinking of tweaking my PHP script to do this or similar from within the app..

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Hi BuffKnysna, I believe it is possible to control the GPIO headers with other apps in the play store using Bluetooth, but this app (Pi Relay) is specifically designed to work over your home network. Is there a reason why you would not want to use it over your Wifi/Network? When configured it should...

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Hi Pelti, It looks like you may have wired your relay to GPIO Pin 4, it's odd that Relay 7 is showing as on when you go to the webpage (Unless perhaps you activated this pin through the app without realising it?). If you want to do more testing, try turning all the relays on/off in the app to see wh...

Re: Control Relay Switches via Android using a Raspberry Pi

Hi Pelti, From terminal to test it, use the commands for Wiring Pi, First type in: gpio mode 1 out Then: gpio write 1 1 This will turn on the GPIO input for relay 1, To turn it off again use: gpio write 1 0 Also for testing purposes, you can go to: http://192.168.1.30/gpio.php from a computer or pho...
