Hi !

As the title say, I'm currently looking at the best way to make a Zigbee gateway on a RPI 5.
Why? Do you realise that a ready to go Zigbee gateway on Aliexpress costs less than just the PSU needed for a Pi5.

Put the card reader with card flashed with OS into a USB socket on your PC. Can Windows detect an added drive and show files on it?

Remove power. Remove card from socket on Pi5. Put card with OS into your USB card reader. Plug card reader into a USB socket on Pi5. Apply power. Does that boot?

Re: How do I hook up my speakers?

Those appear to be a "raw" speaker in a box. No amplifier. None of the reviews mention Bluetooth. At least one review mentions using them with an amplifier. The blurb includes: "Rated impedance: 4 ohms 8 ohms (Ω);" which is exactly what one would expect a speaker coil to be, not ...

I'm having a lot of trouble finding it online, so I have come to here to ask. Please help! ;) No model of RPi has enough audio output power to drive speakers. You need an ...

Oh it is the perfect level of sharpness now! :D I can see why someone would think that the previous Raspberry Pis were sharper, but it was the equivalent of taking an image editor and applying too much sharpness to a photo to the point you see artifacts everywhere. All my CRTs look better with the ...

Re: Psu recommendations

I'm using the relay to power a lot of relays, solenoids, and motors with a Pi4. Naturally, a separate power supply will provide the necessary power for those instead of the Pi4. All operations will be conducted at 12 volts, with a maximum of 10 amps per channel. So what 120v to 12v power supply wou...

1. Have you read and understood the Sticky in this section of the forum? 2. Connecting to a hotspot on a phone is no different than connecting to any other Wi-Fi Access Point such as on a Wi-Fi router. The documentation section of this web site has details of how to do that. Also the internet is awa...

A careful look will reveal that a USB3 socket has more contacts than the four in a USB1 or USB2 socket.

Which led me to read many posts here related to firmware, with some ambiguity about what is meant by firmware. I see that rpi-update can update (or revert) "firmware", but I can't tell if that means it updates (or reverts) the SD card or if it writes to the hardware outside of the SD card...

I ran the sudo apt update on my RPI 2b that I loaded using Raspberry Pi Imager v1.1.8.1. It then said "39 packages can be upgraded. Run 'apt list --upgradable' to see them." I did that and saw a long list. However, I don't know how to actually do the upgrades. Read the first reply more ca...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 does not boot, both LEDs do not blink, no outputs

And whats worrying is that pin 1 reads 4.8~4.9V. Are you measuring the correct pin? Pin 1 is on the inside row of 20 pins. The pin nearest the board corner is pin 2 and should be 5 Volts nominal. Remove power, remove everything from USB sockets and GPIO header. Remove microSD card. Have HDMI connec...

Re: RPi 5 solid state red light not booing from SD or new image

It is unwise to plug anything on to GPIO pins while a RPi is powered up. However, pushing on a vacant 40 pin female connector should not cause any damage. Was it just a single connector or was it a cable with connectors at each end? If the latter, does the cable have 40 wires or 80 wires? Cables wit...

I don’t think that is the way to install it on a Mac (but I don’t have one) The instructions say To install on Raspberry Pi OS , type sudo apt install rpi-imager in a Terminal window. But you don’t have Raspberry Pi OS on your Mac, you have some version of macOS ? @neilgl If you look at https://www...

Re: RPI 4b not booting from SD Card.

are you using an adapter? some adapters do not pass EDID Data back from the monitor to the PI. without this data, the pi does not know what resolutions are supported, so it sets none (no HDMI output) I am under the impression that even without any EDID a 4B booted without storage medium inserted wi...

Re: RPI 4b not booting from SD Card.

Have you done as requested earlier.

check your HDMI cabling and EDID status:
power off your PI
remove the SD card
power on the pi.
- you should get the diagnostic display as shown below. Pay attention to the EDID data status (the last line "display"... below says EDID=OK)

Maybe faulty or fake card. Download h2testw (for Windows) and use it to test the card. Good point - I assume people buy from reputable dealers (or they have decent supply chains) too much  Giving the OP is using a Mac or Linux box then F3 (https://fight-flash-fraud.readthedocs.io/en/latest/) ...

In the other thread you started you wrote that the red LED is flashing. That is not what you stated in the first post here. Flashing red LED usually means power supply trouble. Are you using official PSU?
