Is anyone aware of any teaching resources for SmartSim?
The smartsim site does have example circuits, but not much of a beginner/user guide that I could see...

Re: Scratch GPIO Temperature Sensor D18B20
Just to add another voice to request this in Scratch - the sensor is included in the Camjam Edukit 2, and (in my limited free time) I'm trying to run the examples in Scratch.
Perhaps you can pass the requests from here up?

Re: November Scratch release
The comment about whitespaces after the line helped... I had two CRs.
Removed those and the error disappeared.
All working now...

Re: November Scratch release
I plugged in the Pi earlier... it was still wired up from yesterday. Ran the scratch program, and this time the LED complied and switched itself off... honestly, no idea, it didn't do that yesterday (it stayed on, tested on two different GPIO pins) - so in one way good, but for debugging purposes no...

Re: November Scratch release
Hi Tim, will grab the screens and upload when I can There was no .scratch.ini file in my home folder initially, so I created a new one containing only the single line to set the gpioserver on - happy to send the script though. Hopefully a little time this evening... As a 'for info', I was running th...

Re: November Scratch release
Great news. I was trying out the gpioserver examples - working well, but a little quirk in my own simple LED test program that a broadcast to switch off a LED doesnt always seem to have an effect - perhaps when the delay after switching the LED on is quite small? E.g. I had a very short script that ...

Re: Dual-Boot Pi from big SD card
However you'll want to make sure you're using NOOBS 1.3.4 or above, as in earlier versions of NOOBS the nominal partition size for Raspbian was set too small. Many thanks. RPi back in its box temporarily while I try to catch up on the work I get paid for... but after I backup my files I'll give thi...

Re: Dual-Boot Pi from big SD card
Wondering about the behaviour of the partitions.json files in NOOBS... as well as a value for partition_size_nominal there is a property "want_maximised", which by default is true for all OS (AFAIK) If I know that I'll be mainly using one of the OS in a multi-boot set-up, then would settin...

Yet another time lapse script...
I set up my Pi to run a script at start-up to test first whether or not it was on a network (wifi or ethernet, as set up for 'normal' use) or not - and start a timelapse when disconnected from a network. This makes it very simple to start a timelapse - just remove the wifi usb adapter/ethernet and s...

Re: Static and Sensor modules
Thanks James, I did manage to get it working again after all... and posted that on another thread. Re-re-seating all of the cables fixed it, but still in the dark as to what went wrong initially (possibly a loose connection on the short 'sunny' cable?). Managed to make a timelapse film on Friday... ...

Re: raspivid & raspistill not working and freeze camera modu
Cheers Dougie...
post Sherlock I thought I'd have another go... when reseating the sunny cable I hadn't pushed it in enough - did that and now it works.
at least I can rest easy... if a little frustrated that I don't have a clear idea of what actually went wrong in the first place.

Re: Static and Sensor modules
Static could be a problem... but from too many hours reading the threads on these forums there is a genuine lack of consistency. Some folk with multiple cameras and pis are finding that some pi's dont work with some cameras, and other odd issues that are obviously hard to test if you only have one c...

Re: raspivid & raspistill not working and freeze camera modu
Well, I saw advice in a few places to try reseating the cables on the camera board. Touched radiator first of course to remove static. Now I get: pi@raspberrypi ~ $ raspistill -v -o test.jpg raspistill Camera App v1.3.5 Width 2592, Height 1944, quality 85, filename test.jpg Time delay 5000, Raw no T...

Re: raspivid & raspistill not working and freeze camera modu
Same problem as OP - all worked yesterday, today I get the red light and nothing. Running raspistill with the -v option, the output is pretty much identical as far as I can see: pi@raspberrypi ~ $ raspistill -v -n -o test.jpg raspistill Camera App v1.3.5 Width 2592, Height 1944, quality 85, filename...

Re: Multiple wifi networks
Ok, still not attempted with multiple networks, but got wifi working using wpa-conf instead of wpa-roam - not sure if this will work against more than one possible wifi network, but will try that out later. Page 69 of Eben's Raspberry Pi user guide (the first edition) had the recipe that worked for ...

Re: Multiple wifi networks
OK, so a year later, another poor soul wanders by having problems with this... trying to get wpa_supplicant to connect successfully to ONE network before I try and get it to work with multiple networks. as with the OP, I have no problem with wifi setting the ssid and psk in the /etc/network/interfac...
