Re: RP4 2 video issue

Do you mean the mouse pointer or the text cursor? You can set the video layer that omxplayer uses to make the video play over the top of the pointer. I can't remember what the option is because I don't have a system running Buster to check it on. There is also a ...

Re: RP4 2 video issue

My bad I realize that there has been a typo in the code I've managed to make it work with the codes below #!/bash sleep 0 omxplayer --no-keys --loop --display2 /home/pi/Pictures/A/A_2022.mp4 & omxplayer --loop --display7 /home/pi/Pictures/B/B_2022.mp4 Question: Is there a --hide ...

Re: How to set up a splash screen on behalf of omxplayer

VLC is probably the simplest option. If you are playing video only (no audio) then something simpler like hello_videoprime may be enough. How to set up a splash screen on behalf of omxplayer

I saw an article saying that omxplayer is no longer supported. I am using Bullseye 64bit OS.
I want to set up a splash screen, but most of the methods are using omxplayer. I'd like to know if there is another way.
The extension is mp4.

Re: h264 @ 1080p not working on 3B..

The thread you quote is from 2016. It will have been using omxplayer which renders direct to the display hardware. Pi OS rendering to a window has to go through a huge pile of Xwindows, which isn't brilliantly optimised. Switch to fullscreen and it should ...

OmxPlayer is deprecated as mentioned in the readme. Note: omxplayer is being deprecated and resources are directed at improving vlc. This is due to: omxplayer uses openvg for OSD and subtitles which isn't supported on Pi4. ...

Is OMXplayer really removed? Was there an official statement? From these contents it seems that it is still possible to use OMXplayer in Raspberry pi 4. https://linuxhint.com/install-use-omxplayer-raspberry-pi/ https://www.reddit.com/r/raspberry_pi/comments/r97bht/trying_to_install_omxplayer_but_my_rpi_tells_me/

Replacing OMXPlayer with VLC

Hi all Back in the good old days we had OMXPlayer on a Pi. You could run it from the command line and it would play a video, full screen, on the Pi's HDMI port. You could stick it in a script and run it from a systemd service at boot. Heck, you ...

Yep, same here Pi 4 4GB with fully up to date Buster. Also FUBAR'd with Pi 4 4GB with fully updated Bullseye.

I've come to expect that VLC updates will wreck things so I have installed OMXPlayer which thankfully is OK.
Whatever happened to the ancient concept called TESTING ??

mp3 and wav sounds at the command line.

I have a script, executed by cron, that randomly plays a sound clip at a certain time. I don't want, or need, a GUI for this function. I was using omxplayer, and it worked for mp3 and for wav. Since then, my old pi died, so I got a pi 4 with the latest OS. No omxplayer available. I have tried mpg123, ...
