Re: Am I a victim of exploits?

did you changed the password during the setup?

if not, you've probably been exploited already.....

start off again from a fresh install... then use a very strong password for your login.

Re: Is it safe to use NPN to control 5v pin?

@OP: if you want your LEDs brighter at 5v source.... and not worry about "overloading" the 5v pin of the RPi.... get the 5v to your LED-transistor setup direct from the power source... try using a transistor array IC like the ULN2003AN instead... you'll save up on space and wiring.... also...

Simplest solution would seem to me to connect a 3V PSU to a GPIO digital input pin and GND.
but which is easier to obtain, a 3v psu, or a usb charger and opto-isolator?
whatever voltage from whatever charger/PSU... I will insist on using an opto-isolator (or relay) on my setup... ;)

before you can use your LM386.... you'll need to extract audio from the RPiZ....

how are you going to do that?

of course there is always the Pimoroni Pirate Audio (3W stereo output)

don't feed the 5V voltage to the RPI's GPIO (the RPi has no analog input anyway).... and ....as already stated... it will FRY YOUR RPI (question: do you want to fry your RPi? really? really really?) so better connect the 5V charger to a 5v relay.... and have the contacts of the relay will act as a s...

my other RPi4B (8GB model) still boots from USB thumbdrive (or flash memory/pendrive/what every you call it in your area)...

am still using RPiOS32 Buster on both

you need to monitor the presence or absence of 230v, correct? Correct. As for your suggestion - I was aware of that way - thus my suggested solution seem more safer than yours. However I just realized that I could try use 5V relay to do the same with my usb-cables mentioned in original post. Thanks...

Do not proceed unless supervised by a duly licensed electrical technician... take a 230v relay, plug it to the mains... the contacts of the relay will act as a switch when wired properly to the RPi based on your code, the RPi wi...

I think you mean micro-HDMI.....(mini-HDMI is only used on the RPiZ class boards)

also you only need two commands to fully update after a fresh install:

Code: Select all

sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade
