Replica Astro Pi Case still available?
I noticed that the website for the Replica Astro Pi flight case is down ( www.astropicase.com ). Are these cases no longer available, or is this just a temporary glitch?

Re: Replica Astro Pi Case still available?
We got hacked by some dweeb. For a (fortunately) short time we were selling “Doku-Doku best quality!”
It’s fixed now, or at least it should be. Let me know if you get anything weird - there’s a chance we missed something in the rebuild.

So far as we can tell it is all working now; at least enough that a couple of orders came through today.

Re: Replica Astro Pi Case still available?
What are the differences between the APEM 104350003 and APEM 8632A switches, besides one being much more expensive than the other? Do they have the same travel/feel? Are the 104350003 switches so much more expensive simply because of their higher reliability rating, or is there something else? Just curious to know if its really worth it to buy the more expensive switches...

Re: Replica Astro Pi Case still available?
There’s actually a bit of a clue in the part number (unusually for an industry that seems to love making them opaque) in that the size of hole they are intended for is different.
That makes the 8632 smaller and so has a smaller button top, which isn’t a problem but looks less serious somehow. You’ll notice, if you look around at all then different electronic supply websites, that the prices can vary wildly. On one occasion when I needed to get a set for a “deluxe all built” order I found the Canadian price at $70+ *each* but the UK price at $20 even with delivery!
If you’re spending the money on one of these cases I suggest that you don’t go cheap on the buttons; it will only annoy you later. And thanks for buying one!

Sigh, yes. It seems Wordpress is a favourite target for dimwit script-kiddies etc.rhildinger wrote: ↑Mon Apr 30, 2018 8:05 pmLooks like your site is down again. Did someone hack you again?
In the meantime if you are wanting to buy a replica Astro Pi case please try emailing info@astropicase.com Ah, actually I’ll have to double check that and maybe correct it...
