RS & Allied Update #3 (27 Sep)

Thanks to everyone who responded to last weeks post. This week, we're pleased to share some really good news regarding availability and delivery of Raspberry Pis.

On Tuesday 25th September we received our latest delivery of boards into our warehouse. We’ve now started shipping orders out to customers, and with further deliveries coming in the next 2 weeks we expect to despatch over 40,000 more orders by mid October.

We have posted some pictures below for you to have a look at.

For customers who have longer lead times, we are still on track for further deliveries and despatches in November. The latest expected despatch dates are located on our FAQ’s at http://uk.rs-online.com/web/generalDisp ... =questions. Belated good news for those with November deliveries is that you will be receiving the Rev 2 board.

We are not currently in a position to respond to all questions raised through these threads, however we’re working with moderators and will continue to address the key themes in our weekly update posts. For immediate information please refer to the FAQ’s in the first instance.

Excuse me, I am just tired with same question repeating like parrot. My order number is 114xxx and from table on FAQ page my RPi will be dispatched between 1st and 7th October. Will I receive rev2 board because you say in your post something about november deliveries and rev2 and I dont understand it. Thanks for pictures looks nice but dont help.I would really appreciate if you can finally answer my question. Anyone, someone from RS.

Like the above poster said, you're expecting the November deliveries to be the rev2 board whilst if we had ordered from another firm we could get the rev 2 in the next few days?

At the very least you could actually give some useful information about which order numbers are expected to be processed but alas no, lack of information appears to be the RS mantra.

I've emailed your MD about this, unfortunately I fear I may end up returning it or cancelling altogether just for the hell of it as this has been my first and certainly my last interaction with RS components.

Belated good news for those with November deliveries is that you will be receiving the Rev 2 board.

I have canceled my order with RS. This is outrageous!
After waiting to oblivion, in the hopes of at least getting a rev2 board, I find out that it won't happen.

Good riddance RS.

If this is a simultaneous RS & Allied Update, then Allied order numbers and estimated delivery dates also need to be included in the FAQ provided, or the subject line should be changed to RS with no mention of Allied.

On Tuesday 25th September I cancelled my order with RS and on Wednesday 26th I placed an order with Farnell for two of them. The great news is that they shipped them straight away, and even better, they are Revision 2 boards made in the UK.

I have posted a picture below for you to have a look at.

For customers who have longer lead times, you know what to do.

Same here, I ordered one from both Farnell and RS in the same week, recieved my Farnell one 3 months ago and still waiting for the RS one. I just hope I recieve mine by the 16th October, because It's a birthday present for my little brother.

I ordered my raspberry pi on 22 june, my ref number is 98***
RS sent me an email on 20 september saying they will ship my raspberry pi in the last week of september, aren't we on the last week of september?

I ordered from RS thinking I would receive decent service and didn't mind the 10 week wait. Now I'm told it will be a further month and a half. Not happy.

So RS are gladly rolling in our money while promising delivery times they can't meet. Definitely the last order I place with them.

I only got a email from rs, no tracking id but I got the email on late friday so maybe DHL get it on monday

I finally got a response from the email address and was told they expect to be shipping mine (order 101XXX) on Thursday of next week with a Friday delivery.

We shall see
