Replacement diode, 5v power input?

Wed Sep 15, 2021 12:47 pm

Hello

Looking to replace this faulty diode from a Raspberry Pi 4: LF KE 8J684. Acts as protection from over voltage from a 5v 3A power supply. Doesn’t have to be from the same manufacturer. Tried using that component number but had no luck. I just need the specs to find a compatible one

Thanks

It's a 5V unidirectional Transient Voltage Suppressor. Google the part number: SMBJ5.0A-TR.

The RPi does not need the Transient Voltage Suppressor to run.
If you have removed the TVS part and the RPi still won't boot then there are other damaged components.... So in that case there is no point in replacing the TVS part as the RPi is dead...........
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.
