Re: TIDAL Connect installation!

Hi all,

I have setup Tidal Connect on my Raspberry 4 with Topping E30 dac and its working perfectly :)

But what I really miss is to see cover art and track info on display. Raspberry display :)

Does any one know or have idea is it possible to extract that info? and write additional app that will display image and track info? similar to what Volumio is doing?

You are nearly there to have volume control from Tidal app ;) After enabling Speaker Controller service you need to edit alsa configuration in /etc/asound.conf and then modify ifi-streamer-tidal-connect.service accordingly, redeploy it and restart PI

For your --playback-device "snd_soc_allo_boss2_dac: - (hw:1,0)"\ config should look like:

Code: Select all

pcm.namewhatyoulike {
    type hw
    card 1
    device 0
}
ctl.namewhatyoulike {
    type hw
    card 1
}

pcm.softvol {
    type            softvol
    slave {
        pcm         "namewhatyoulike"
    }
    control {
        name        "Master"
        card        0
    }
[Unit]
Description=RasPi Streamer Tidal Connect Service
[Service]
Restart=on-failure
ExecStart=/usr/ifi/ifi-tidal-release/bin/tidal_connect_application \
--tc-certificate-path "/usr/ifi/ifi-tidal-release/id_certificate/IfiAudio_ZenStream.dat" \
-f "HiTide RasPi Streamer" \
--codec-mpegh true \
--codec-mqa false \
--model-name "HiTide RasPi Streamer" \
--disable-app-security false \
--disable-web-security false \
--enable-mqa-passthrough false \
--log-level 3 \
--playback-device "softvol" \
--enable-websocket-log "0"

Based in this excellent work done, i have created a Dockerized version of this project :D

You can use this docker image in raspberry pi's which have docker installed, or as add-in for HifiberryOS.

https://github.com/TonyTromp/tidal-connect-docker

Enjoy!
Just checked in to say - awesome work @edgecrush3r on the docker / hifiberry OS stuff - and glad to see that more and more people are finding this useful!

I did try to get Tidal Connect playing nicely in balena-sound a while ago https://github.com/balenalabs/balena-sound/pull/399

But unfortunately I ran out of time and haven't had much time since to look at it again.

If anyone has the time / know how to finish off that PR for me - it would be awesome to see that :-)

More info here too https://forums.balena.io/t/tidal-connec ... und/318149
